I was very happy with the finale.

Tension. Intrigue. Drama. Surprise. Angst.

Tony basically killed his cousin for naught as Johnny Sac goes down.

I don't know why it was never apparent before now that the Feds were going after New York AND New Jersey at the same time. DOH~!

And Boy--there is nothing like the sight of Tony's burly ass running through the snow (and not getting caught--when it seemed like he SHOULD get caught) to make ya sweat. Very remeniscent of Sal and Chris from a few seasons ago.

When he first took off, I thought Sac was trying to get a hit on Tony.

And the final scene with him walking into the house and Carmella's concern was AWESOME. Wide shot with dialogue.

Just the right amount of drama I think.

I hope the new season isn't delayed like this one was. I'm pretty anxious to see who will take over the New York stuff, if indeed Johnny Sack goes to the slammer. This was a really good way to wrap up the season. I think there is just one more to go before it's done?

The things I've seen stated the final season (10 episodes) doesn't start taping until March 2005, so who knows when it will finally hit the air, my guess would be fall of '05.

Sack taking a facer into the concrete was classic....I didn't like it as much as the previous episode, I thought that one was the best of the year. But this one was good...especially in the end. I just hope it won't take forever to see the next season.

When Tony came rumbling through the woods behind his house, I thought for sure it was gonna be that bear.

It was a good, not great show. I also believed that it was a bear at the end. And for some reason I really have to suspend disbelief to see Tony running for 3 miles through the snow. If they are going to tackle the gardner, don't you think the feds might want to tackle the fat guy talking to Johnny and waddling away? Gee, Meadow sure got a lot of screen time after the engagement was announced. Hmm, Carmela thinks A.J. might be gay? Well, perhaps Tony could have one of his guys take him to a Padres game. Paulie was vastly underused for most of the season.

Ditto. Actually, I thought someone at Tony's house would mistake him the bear and take a shot at him.

And...what's on AJ's computer?

I liked how the episode had a lot of Tony doing stuff that it turned out he didn't have to do _ killing Tony B, running from the Feds. Also, a question that may or may not be answerable: Is Philly part of the Brooklyn crew? Because Tony's lawyer specifically said they took down BROOKLYN, not New York.

So, if Phil's not part of the Brooklyn crew, it's possible that he could be running New York by the time they come back. Which would be about six kinds of awesome. Or, if he goes down, too, then they have the whole "I killed my cousin but I didn't have to" thing for Tony to deal with.

Did anybody else catch a glimpse of silver hair when the guys with rifles were running up and think "Damn. Philly's coming after Tony."?

And, odessa, I think it's obvious what was on AJ's computer. It's the same thing that was in Marcellus Wallace's briefcase.

Overall, I liked it; I will concede it wasn't as good as the week before, but considering that one was, in my opinion, one of the three best they've ever done, it'd be hard to top.

Yeah, count me in as another bear expectant. Howabout Silvio's impromptu chat with Tony? That was unexpected. Sil's done more in the last two weeks than he's done in the last three seasons. The E Street Band must not be on tour, anymore.

It felt like a series finale to me, though. The session with Dr. Melfi had a sense of closure to it. I like how everybody got some screentime. Even the bit players like Patsy Parisi...everyone except Janice, but that's okay.

If they do come back for a sixth and final season, it'd be nice if they dealt with Melfi's assault. That's been brushed under for years, and I keep waiting for some resolution. Same for the Russian, but the rumor on that is simply: "he's gone".

I have to disagree. One of the things that I like about the show is that things get left unresolved. We may never know what happened to that Russian.

And I just love how last season ended with Tony and Carmela dramatically splitting up, only to quietly get back together over business arrangement.

And an unrelated question: I am I the only one who thinks Deadwood is just as good if not better than the Sopranos?

I really liked the end to this season. I loved how they kept showing Blundetto's mangled face over and over.

So, I'm wondering...is Philly going to come work for Tony now? Or is Carmine going to try to reassert himself? Frank Vincent is so great as Philly...I hope he stays on permanently. I also just want him to say "Now go home and get your shinebox" at least once.

No your not! Al Swearengen has become the most bad ass character, eclipsing Jack Bauer, Tony Soprano, Det. Vic and Colombo. I loved his rambling closing while getting head from some strange.

I really like the scene at Paulie's house with the painting. It was kind of nice to see Tony pull through in what really was a tough season for him.

I got to about episode 4 and called it quits. I found the characters annoying and there was so much killing going on that it felt like the last season of OZ. I'd be willing to give it another shot if they replay the season, but I found it to nowhere near the drama's Carnivale, early OZ, and the Sopranos. Plus I think that the bar owner says 'cocksucker' way to much.

Last I checked (about a month ago), Deadwood was holding onto about half of the Sopranos audience. The Sopranos had about 9.2 million viewers and Deadwood had about 4.7. Not bad.

I am also a fan of Deadwood. A very dark show with no real redeeming characters (besides the Doctor and Delayed CowGirl).

I really wanted to get hooked on Deadwood....but about episode 4 or 5, I also gave up. It seemed over-acted (Powers Booth's character, especially) and the plots weren't all that interesting. Everytime Calamity Jane came on, I was reaching for the MUTE button. Plus, I couldn't take "Larry" of "Larry, Darryl & Darryl" fame as the hotel guy. G'damn motherless cocksucking motherfuckers.

I also have been less than enamored of Deadwood. The main character ("Montana") SUCKS ASS, as there aren't really any characters I really dig. The dialogue is too hard to understand and the plot gets really tough to follow at times also.
