Everything I'd heard had them leaning towards Jered Weaver, brother of Jeff, but this article (sports.espn.go.com) has GM Kevin Towers leaning towards Stephen Drew, brother of J.D. It looks like the Scot Boras factor has affected the Weaver situation too. Weaver is looking for a package similar to the one that Mark Prior got in 2001 (10.5 million). Drew is looking for a deal similar to the one Richie Weeks received last year (4.79 million dollars guaranteed, 3.6 million dollar signing bonus). I wish teams would just refuse to deal with that jerk. I can't blame these kids for signing with him, because he always manages to get the high-dollar contracts, but sometimes I wonder if he really has his clients' best interests in mind.

This is one of the good things about the NBA draft, with the slotting of the salaries. Of course, the thing aout the baseball draft is that you are paying millions to ballplayers who may make the majors in three years.
EDIT: I am shocked Weaver fell to # 12(Anaheim)and Drew to # 15(ARizona) regardless the agents.
