(Not sure if this should go in here or in the Politics folder).

So I was opening up MSN Messenger just now, and they had a link to a story about high gas prices. The picture that linked me there (and I wish I could find a URL for this picture, but I can't) was hilarious.

It showed a picture of a gas-station sign. $2.33 for the lowest-grade gas. Ouch, but it gets worse. The regular- and premium-grade gas prices had been removed and replaced with "ARM" and "LEG", respectively.

What knocks me out is that they kept the 9/10ths at the end. So you think you're only paying a leg for a gallon of premium gas, when in fact you also have to give 'em nine-tenths of your other leg.

Not easy to reach the gas pedal with 1/10 of a leg........I paid $2.01 for regular two days ago - first time I had paid over $2. The highest I have seen in my area of Northern NJ for Regular has been $2.17

This is a few weeks old (it was a Bay Area station) and I belive it's already come and gone as a Grimis avatar. See, now you have a REASON to go find his posts. :)

I just got back from my butcher, and he had one of those up in his store. Couldn't make out where it was from, but the price of regular in his picture was $2.33.

Those prices are all incredibly cheap. I'm disgusted at those station owners for thinking that those prices are high. $1.72 is at least 50 cents less than what I'm paying for regular right now, if not more.

I can't remember where I saw it, but I saw one of those pics a LONG time ago (not just a few weeks like Zed suggested), which would explain why they complain about prices in the $1.72/$1.59/etc. range.
