Well, I don't know if tonight was ridiculous, but if they're going to kick ass the next day, the Flames may want to save some of it for Saturday when they actually play a game. Just kidding. I know what you meant SOK.
Tonight was exactly what these Finals needed. A win by the Lightning, but so lopsided that we actually got to see a few brew-ha-has (sp?). No one took cheap shots, just the boys letting off a little steam. Man, with what happened tonight, the Lightning are in for a real treat when they hit the Saddledome with thousands of maniacs going wild.
And even though I despise the Flames for beating my Wings, damned if they aren't an easy team to root for, especially with a class act like Iginla leading them. That guy is one the most well-spoken, good-natured, talent-hoarding power forwards I've ever seen. Too bad about the new CBA. I would love to see the Wings go "NY Yankees" on Calgary and sign him away.

The Flames basically halted any momentum Tampa had tonight, with Kiprusoff standing on his head and Iginla, Donovan & Simon providing the offense. Iginla was FANTASTIC tonight, beating Vincent Lecavalier in a fight and setting up Simon's goal (which turned out to be the game winner).

It's Howe, but nobody's mad at ya. Iginla's been the difference-maker for the Flames since Valeri Bure got traded a few years back. Without Kiprusoff, we wouldn't be in the Stanley Cup Finals. Without Iginla, we coldn't be in the Finals.
Right now, I say Iginla gets the Conn Smythe narrowly over Kipper, while losing the Hart to St. Louis. Darryl Sutter gets the Jack Adams and Kiprusoff gets the Vezina so everyone goes home happy. | sweetroll

Slow down... Why don't you actually win the Cup before you start handing out awards. I'm not sure what parallel universe you live in where a 2-1 lead is an automatic Cup win.
For the most part, the Ning have been a back-forth-back-forth team, so a 7 game series should be expected. Game 1 was an abboration. There is absolultely no way a RESTED Bolts team will lose two at home from here on out. If the Ning can take Monday, the series is over. | Freeway

"We" managed to beat the Wings? Who are you? Steve Montador?
Anyway, if the Flames win (and I think they will), Iggy will get the trophy. However, if the Bolts win, I'm pretty confident that Richards or Lecavalier will get the Conn Smythe. | Freeway

Nope, but considering how much season tickets have cost since the Flames won the Cup in '89 (and how much money I've sunk into the franchise), I think I've PAID for Steve Montador.
EDIT: Flames record: vs. Canucks [L,W,L,W,W,L,W], vs. Red Wings [W,L,W,L,W,W], vs. Sharks [W,W,L,L,W,W] Lightning record: vs. Islanders [W,L,W,W,W], vs. Canadiens [W,W,W,W], vs. Flyers [W,L,W,L,W,L,W]
The Lightning haven't trailed in a series during these playoffs. The Flames haven't trailed since after Game 3 against the Canucks.
