How, exactly, is misreading where your teammate is going and tossing a pass to where you thought he was going to be similar to Webber missing an uncontested layup from two feet? Webber's gaffe isn't quite as bad as Fred Brown accidentally passing the ball to James Worthy in the '82 NCAA final, but it's close. Garnett's bad pass isn't in the same neighborhood.

Also, KG had 14 points, including that ridiculous clutch three with the shot clock expiring, and the HUGE block on Brad Miller with 2.5 seconds to go. CLUTCH.

Chris Webber's last six minutes included THREE missed layup (two were blocked), his missed 3-pointer and only ONE defensive rebound. NOT CLUTCH.

KG: I'm not sure why you're acting so surprised. . .you do this all the time.

Um, let's not get carried away here. Webber's own NCAA gaffe might be kinda close to the pass to Worthy, but this missed layup isn't even close.

First of all, Garnett's errant throw wasn't direted towards somebody he thought was going a different direction, nobody was even moving. He just threw it nowhere near anybody on the court.

Second of all, how is it worse than Webber's miss, they both lose a possession without scoring. They're equally important screw ups.

And come on, you KNOW that if the Kings win then everybody forgets how great a game Garnett had and instead talk about how he threw away a pass in the last minute to cost them the game. So you can't tell me it wasn't a big screw up.

Webber choked. That's not up there on shocking news stories. Now, would it kill Peja to grace the Kings with his presence in a Game 7 at least once in his career?
I'll take the Fakers in 5. However, should anything screwy happen and the T'Wolves be up 2-1 going into Game 4, does a mysterious power outage hit L.A. in order to push the game back an hour so Kobe can arrive from Colorado?
And, nice game by Jason Kidd in a Game 7. 13-2 up at home in Game 6 with a chance to clinch, and the Nets don't get out of the round. I'll stick with my pre-playoff pick of Pacers in 5 over the Pistons.

I saw that on ESPN.com and my first reaction was:

"Chris Webber, come on down because you are the next contestant on the PRICE IS RIGHT!"

I am sure I saw Sprewell on the wing, flashing to the corner instead of back toward halfcourt. If you can prove to me it happened differently I will defer to you.

When KG threw the ball away, I thought "My, THAT was a BAD turnover."

When Webber missed the layup I shouted at the TV "HOW DO YOU MISS THAT LAYUP! OMG WEBBER YOU SUCK!"

The Kings were down four with 57 seconds left when Webber missed the layup that would've made it a two possession game. You CAN'T tell me that wasn't worse than KG's turnover.

If Webber hadn't gone scoreless in the last eight minutes AND missed that big layup I'm sure he'd deserve less blame, but superstars don't go scoreless for the last eight minutes of Game 7. That goes for Peja and his whole TWO points, as well.

Basically the game went like this:

1st quarter: Cassell
2nd quarter: Szczerbiak
3rd quarter: Spreewell
4th quarter: Garnett

The key to the Lakers-TWolves series is Spreewell and Szczerbiak. If they have a good series, TWolves can win. My Pick: Lakers in 7.

Webber (Dancing and singing as Britney Spears) "Oops I blew it again, I lost this game, oh baby oops"

No love for the Wolves at all! I'm picking Minnesota in 5, I guess making it a higher seed upset of sorts.

And now... I present you with the Barkleyism of the series:

"I think the key for us [as broadcasters] is to make to these people at home think that Minnesota has a chance against L.A." -- Charles Barkley.

GAME 1: Lakers 97 Wolves 88.
GAME 2: Wolves 89 Lakers 71.
GAME 3: Lakers 100 Wolves 89.
