In my heart, I believe Angel did slay that dragon.

I'm gonna miss them all. I already miss them.

I dug it. I'd have liked a little more closure, but I was satisfied.

A little more closure? They brought the series together beautfully. From Spike's effulgent poem (even if that's technically a Buffy reference) to Ilyaria's acknowlegdement that Gunn is cute, there were back references galore. Plus, they tied up the Shanshu prophecy and even made sure that anyone who didn't understand the ending to the Connor episode got it. (Speaking of which, the Connor episode was awesome, as was Angel's revelation that he set up the encounter with Hamilton and had already taken out the other villain.)

Lindsay said he was fighting the Sarven. Which villains were they? I didn't see Lorne's turning on Lindsay coming, but damn, if that wasn't the way to make an exit. Lindsay's reactions at being taken out by a flunkie were best.

Of all the cast memebers, I was hoping Wes would pull through the most. Its sad that he went, but the way he did was well done. The best part being it set up Ilyaria playing Connor to that red guy's Jasmine. I'm surprised no one thought to just rip out the guy's tube. I like the subtlety of Wes being stabbed in the gut after what he did to Gunn earlier this season.

The reapparance of Anne was a nice touch.

On the one hand, I agree that it would have been nice to see the ending of the battle play out, but the point they make (that the fight always continues) is so much stronger. We saw what we needed to see. Joss is a master storyteller. It can be left as an exercise to the viewer (fanboy) to decide how the fight itself actually plays out.

I'm actually glad the show went out like this. After the disappointing season seven of Buffy, this was quite the high note to go out on. This season (if not this whole show) has easily surpassed Joss' prior peak of Buffy seasons 1-3.

It was just awesome.

I too wanted to see how the battle would fare. But this is the right-ending.

Sucks they couldn't have done a two-parter.

I know it's too late for me to demand more of Harmony in her bra & panties, but a guy can dream.

Remember, that Buffy didn't truly have an ending. Just an ending to that particular battle.

It would've been nice, if Joss had more prep to bring in some of the Sunnydale folk. I'd have liked to have seen Willow, but I guess Illyria made her redundant. Gunn could've really used a Slayer or 6.

Even halfway through, I still expected Spike to be the one who died, especially when he finally got his poetry appreciated after a hundred some years.

It was nice to see Cordy and Doyle get their names dropped, as the ones who couldn't finish the trip.

Oh, and Angel did slay the Dragon. He's probably still flying on W&H blood. =)

I just don't think they could have ended better. I was surprised to see Wes go but a little more disappointed he didn't have his guns. All in all for a season where I only liked a handful of episodes, if that, that whole episode just ruled.

I guess I should be happy that it didn't start to become really bad, but now I just want to see more new episodes. But, Space is having a marathon leading up to the finale on Monday and I cannot wait.

And it was kind of like a two-parter since it directly picked up from last weeks.

It was alot more emotional for me than the Buffy ending. From when they were all asked to enjoy their "last day", and then Angel giving them their assignments, it was sad that it was all about to "end". And then the whole fight scene with Hamilton, damn. That was just great.

The final scene with them standing in the alley, ghouls, demons, etc, charging at them, it was a good way to go out.

I must say, i've despised Alexis Denisof all these years for bagging Alyson Hannigan, but it was sad to see Wes go out. He really grew on me this season.

Amazing. That's all I can say. I gotta watch it again. Now bring on the TV movies!

I was glad to see that Connor had "made peace" with Angel. I think that he finally realized that Angel loved him and wanted to do what was best for him.

The spoilers that I had read mentioned that Gunn would also die - I'm glad that they left Gunn's fate open. He was seriously wounded, but he could still survive. Unfortunately, Wes had no such luck. My wife and I were commenting on how far the Wes character had come over the period of six seasons - from nerdy, nervous, and barely competent to slightly crazed badass. It was at least a fitting, and noble, death for Wes.

I also loved Spike's efulgent poem; that was super, and in the end, he was metaphorically wearing the white hat - not the gray hat, but the white hat. Also consider that, IMO, Angel handed Shansu to Spike - though I'd argue that Spike truly earned Shansu simply because he chose to win his soul (albeit for selfish purposes) while Angel's soul was a punishment.

Nice ending to a show that had become a favorite. The Mrs. and I are already looking for a new "action/adventure/comedy/drama" to watch together. Any suggestions?
