Translation: CBS Sports has removed "Prime Time" Deion Sanders from their studio lineup for "The NFL Today." (USA Today)
I guess his old album says it all: it's got to be the money. Oddly enough, CBSSportsline.com still has his profile up, though.
Dig this list of candidates on tap to replace him, though:
Originally posted by that USA Today article Candidates to replace Sanders include Shannon Sharpe, Rod Woodson, Seth Joyner and Neil O'Donnell.

The sad part is most of his teammates loved him and he was a polite repsectful guy and good friend. The on air persona seems to have gotten the better of his common sense. | Dave Gagnon

Those guys are on ESPN, not FOX. Fox is JB, Howie, Terry, and Jimmy. | dunkndollaz

| #7 Posted on 14.5.04 1723.18 Reposted on: 14.5.11 1724.15 | Shannon Sharpe could be a very good fit on a pre-game show, but he's gotta be very careful not to become Deion #2. I think Deion coulda been a good fit because he's got a natural charisma to him and he can be an entertaining guy, but he always seemed more interested in getting his own act over than providing any real insight into the league or the matchups. Michael Irvin is guilty of the same more often than not IMO, but Countdown could cover for it much easier since they have three strong guys around him. Sharpe's a good talker, but has to be aware of not falling into this same trap. | Roy.

He needs to be MORE careful to not be Sterling Sharpe #2. Although I'd love to see CBS and ESPN set up some sort of program where they simulcast the two Sharpe boys going back-and-forth for a half-hour every Sunday.
