We're Asian and Pacific Islander Americans "living on the rim," where our diverse cultures and the everyday American lifestyle become one. We're hanging on to our great traditions while we move to the beat of the times. We honor our heritage - but we love being Americans. From high fashion to high tech, from Asian Pacific American hip hop to haute cuisine, we're weaving the threads of our culture into the fabric of everyday American life. Whether we're sipping green tea or enjoying a Big Mac® sandwich, we're helping make the magic mix called America become even richer. And McDonald's is right there with us, everyday!

McD's has been doing that to black people for YEARS. They've never been able to put black people & white people in the same commercial at once, unless there's like 10 black kids hanging out on the corner for no good reason and a white dude happens to drive by.
And in the black McD's commercials, there's never any cutesy jingle, no cutsey kids, no anecdote/joke at the end, no happy meals. It's always a bunch of hip-hoppers on the subway or loitering on the playground rapping to each other about how FUNKY-FRESH their burgers be tastin' today, or it's about how amazed the whole neighborhood is that the local hooligan actually cleaned up his act enough to get a job there ("You mean Calvin on the CORNER got a JOB ad McD's?!?!").
Trash.

I think there WAS the one McDonald's commercial somewhere in the mid 90s that DID have white and black actors in an equal level of prominence...which in cultural history ranks somewhere in between Rosa Parks and The Corny Collins Show being integrated. :-P | JayJayDean

So will they see a McD's commercial with a guy who no-sells a head-butt?

| #9 Posted on 15.5.04 0151.54 Reposted on: 15.5.11 0151.59 | I am sad to say but I used to work at Mcd's for almost a decade. I was a manager for 8 years and a store manager for almost 3. Now this info is 5 years old that I was told at the Hamburger University or AOC in McLingo that blacks represented almost 40% of Mcd's sales. Basically blacks ate at Mcd's almost 3 times more than they should have by population. Now a lot of that has to do with the very large numbers of Mcd's in Chicago and New York especially but other urban areas. But African Americans especially and Latinos were referred to as SHU's or Super Heavy Users. I am willing to guess the Super Heavy part has been dropped for some reason though. But yeah those ad's are pretty bad.
