Should SEGA venture back into the console business? The quick answer would be yes since the Dreamcast was a pretty solid console but the ease of piracy killed it in my opinion. Is SEGA just better off concentrating on making games for other consoles? | Roy.

I think if they do make a new console, they better be ready for the negativity and the skepticism. They need to make a commitment if they want it to succeed, because a lot of SEGA fans have been burned in the past few years. | Bongo P. Michinoku

Saturn and Dreamcast owners had it easy compared to 32X and Sega CD owners. The time for a Sega console is long past, they'd piss far too many people off by releasing a new console at this stage.
I'd much rather see Nintendo and Sega work out an exclusive deal that would see Sega drop support for Sony and Microsoft. (Actually, *I*'d rather see them supporting Microsoft, but I think Nintendo is much more likely.) | GoddamnJordan

Oh Sega, just sign up Treasure, Camelot and have Yuji crank out a LOVELY new Sonic that will just make us forget all about these recent 3-D abortions. I love you Sega...
Just think, new Shinobi and Panzer Dragoons NOT on that filthy lil Microsoft console. Yum.
Hah, maybe Sega's big announcement is that they're REALLY the ones behind that new Phantom console. SHWAGAGAGA.
Hell, maybe its just a new Shen-Mu. That'd be neato.
Or maybe they'll just become exclusive developers for someone. As long as its not Sony. I'd kind of feel dirty about that one. | DrewMG

Whoa.(/Neo)
That could be pretty interesting. And Altered Beast for PS2 should be neat, too. But if it doesn't have "WISE FWOM YOUR GWAVE" in there somewhere I will be very disappointed.

There has been buzz in a few places, but I can't seem to find any that you would call credible The Sega message boards are full of posts about this supposed announcement, and I saw a few references over at Slashdot games a while ago.
Like I said, probably nothing too credible. I was just hoping. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
