What a gutsy playoff run by the Flames so far. They've battled key injuries (don't underestimate the amount of quality players that are out of the Flames lineup) and managed to topple ALL THREE DIVISION CHAMPIONS.
As an NHL orphan (I may be a Flyers fan, but my heart lies with Canadian teams now), I'm wicked excited for Tuesday night.

As a diehard New England Patriots fan who has seen his team win TWO Super Bowls after years of futility, let me just tell you I can TOTALLY relate, and I have adopted the Flames as my team of choice for the playoffs because I hope they win it all for you guys!
Also, how many people at Game 6 were in Flames' sweaters? 80%? Even Mrs. JJD thought that was pretty cool. (Though not cool that she had to sit through the third period. Luckily she fell asleep.)

I have heard through word of mouth that it's been reported that this current Flames' home jersey is the biggest seller of all time(hockey jerseys). Not sure if that was "of all time" or for one season. It's freaky to see so many people in them.
I can't wear them though. With my non-shoulders and short height, even small ones look like an evening gown on me.

I'd have to say that the Flames are reminding me very much of the Hurricanes team that went to the Cup a couple years back in the fact that they just flat out want to win worse than the other team. I think Barry Melrose said that will beat skill in this series, because on paper the Sharks should have beaten the Flames, but that's why you play the game. I also noticed that when they played in Calgary that it seemed like EVERYBODY had on a Flames jersey. In the start of game 3, I was watching the intros where I thought it was some light effect that made it look like everyone had on red. Oh no...that is something that made me want to like that team...that type of fan support is awesome, and with me living down here in North Carolina, the closest thing I can equate that to is watching a Duke game and seeing their ravid fans. Anyway, its teams like this and games like the elimination of Detroit that could honestly get more people into hockey. I honestly don't know much about it, but they sure do make it fun to watch. Also, Game 7, Go Flyers.
