From Meltz:

"Dream Stage Entertainment announced earlier today changes in both main events on Saturday night's (late Friday U.S. time) Hustle III PPV show from the Yokohama Arena.

All changes involve clients of U.S. wrestling agent Barry Bloom. Bill Goldberg is off the show and Toshiaki Kawada will now defend the Triple Crown against Cactus Jack Mick Foley.

The main event on the show is Shinya Hashimoto & Naoya Ogawa vs. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall. Nash & Hall were a last minute acquisition, as they had pegged Mike Awesome & Dan Bobish originally for the spot."

-With the money that DSE throws around, I'm sure Mick couldn't turn it down. With Goldberg pulling out and them needing a last minute replacement, I'm sure Mick got a HEFTY HEFTY sum.

Wow, I wonder if his involvement will piss Vince off? Of course, it's not like Mick is a full-timer or even a regular part-timer.

I don't think it'll bother Vince at all. If it did, he would have tried to stop Goldberg from working the HUSTLE-1 show while he still worked for WWE.

He couldn't have done a thing because it was built into Goldberg's contract that he was allowed to complete his pre-existing Japan commitments. What they did do, was take the title off him.

Foley doesn't have a contract with WWE so he can pretty much do whatever he wants and after what he did for Randy Orton, they shouldn't care what he does.

The WWE's always been pretty good about letting guys that aren't wrestling pick up odd jobs around if they're not wrestling enough with them.

Usually it's for guys like Al Snow who either need to wrestle for the money, or else guys like Al Snow who need to wrestle to either improve, or just not get rusty. Even though Mick's pretty much done as an active wrestler, I can't see them thinking much about this. It's not like it was Triple H and Shawn Michaels main eventing the thing or something.

I find it hilarious that Nash is booked for a show called "HUSTLE". I guess PLODDING was all booked up.

Not lately. They prevented Snow from wrestling an indy show against Ron Killings (I think), as well as prevented Carlos Colon (currently in OVW) from wrestling Abyss. Those, however, may just be because the opponents are TNA guys.

I believe that was to make sure no video footage featuring a TNA worker vs. a WWE worker would ever exist.

Given Mick's history in Japan, it is not inconceivable that they would give him the Triple Crown title...

Bless you, Tribal Prophet, for making an Al Snow joke in a Mick Foley thread.

If that wasn't a knockout, that was at least a hard jab.

I don't think WWE should be too bothered about Mick going over there. I think they know where Mick's loyalties lie andd where his 'home' is. He is slated to come back in the Summer to promote a new book anyway, so Vince shouldn't be that bothered about it. He could have buried Mick on TV, but hasn't (So far).

From Meltzer:

"Regarding the note from earlier today about Bill Goldberg being off the Hustle show on Saturday, it is due to a legit hand injury."

$100 says there's a broken window involved.

Yes and Snow and Colon still worked on those shows, just against different opponents.

Although I also applaud the Al Snow joke, I'll also give style points to the above Kevin Nash joke. Good on ya, Sean Carless!

Although I do have to wonder...back in the day, Mick was of the no-fake-stuff; make-it-look-like-it-hurts-because-it's-REAL-and-DOES-hurt school; i.e. barbed wire, C4, thumbtacks, etc. But in Foley is Good, he talks about how he had WWE's props guy (Ritchie somethingorother) come up with fake stuff that looks like it hurts, but doesn't.

With this shift in Foley's execution of a wrestling match, can he still do the hardcore style he got over w/ as Cactus Jack in the mid 1990s? I wonder how he'll approach this.

And all your base are belong to us...er, I also do you order this info please...uh, I mean, does anybody know if this'll be on DirecTV?

This isn't a hardcore match. It's for the Triple Crown, arguably the most prestigious title in professional wrestling. It's going to be a simple, one-on-one match.

Maybe if you have DirectTV in Japan.
