| #2 Posted on 27.4.04 1236.43 Reposted on: 27.4.11 1237.16 | I've gone previously ('99 and '02) and it really is an incredible music experience. This year's looks fantastic, but money was tight this year, so no-go for me.
Be prepared, though. The forecast says it's going to be between 103 and 105 in Indio this weekend, and unless they've made some changes this year, shade is SCARCE. If you're not ready for it, the heat can take you straight out of the game. We spent most of the day in '99 just sitting in a shady spot listening to whatever was nearby. Also, the heat generated by the sheer number of bodies in the tents can be overwhelming.
Once night falls, though, it's all gravy. Watch out for pushy motherf*ckers in front of the main stage and have a great time!

| #3 Posted on 27.4.04 1244.40 Reposted on: 27.4.11 1244.59 | We opted for Kraftwerk tickets at the Warfield for tomorrow (and also Thursday!) so that kinda broke the bank here. Belle & Sebastian are doing the Warfield Friday, but that one doesn't look like it'll have us in the audience. I'll bet a lot of these other people are in or around San Francisco this week if I'd been studious enough to check.
My college roommate must not have been too serious about going, since I never heard him speak of it again.
Oh man, now I remember what I hate about Coachella: Fri Apr 30 Sunny 99/60 0 % Sat May 01 Sunny 103/63 0 % Sun May 02 Sunny 105/64 0 % http://www.weather.com/ weather/local/USCA0234
The best advice I can give: get one of those multi-gallon containers of water - the kind with the nice suitcase handles attached to them - and find a way to FREEZE it the night before. Then... forget I said anything because it looks like they're not allowing any outside food or water in. Sheesh. | pieman

I would go just for The Rapture, Le Tigre, and Mogwai, though. I do look forward to your thoughts and musings when you get back! | Cerebus

SWEET! I've been wondering what to wear, so the weather forcasts helped me decide on baggy shorts(black), t-shirts (Saturday will be my sky blue 'Cerebus for Dictator' shirt and my white 'FUCK CORPORATE ROCK' shirt for sunday), and my docs cause I'm a fashion whore and they're comfortable to me. I also plan on wearing my grey and green PAXIL baseball cap, so look out for that cause I've NEVER seen anyone else wear one. I hope you run into me.
I've been told taht last year, they had these 'mist tents' where you pay $10 and get to hang out with water litely spraying you. I feel Serena might end up in these due to her being so pale and not very daylight loving.
EDIT: damn spelling(...not Tori.)

They won't have that this year. See http://coachella.com/rules.html
Hey, the set times are up! http://www.coachella.com/ set_times_print.html Sure enough, everybody's playing at the same time...and Kraftwerk will have to cut about an hour out of their set. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
