His name was Bernie Kosar.

I think by the time I really got into football in about 1992 (when I was 10) or so, Bernie Kosar was an also-ran in the NFL.

Jesus man the guy has cleaned himself up and been a model citizen since then. Give him a break.

is it still 1999 in your world Jag?

Oy. Yes, I realize that Kerry has been better in New York (at least, I've heard about him in the news less). And he did take the Giants to the Super Bowl, so I'm sure he has a chance to go to a new team and take them to the next level. However, after the way he handled himself in Carolina and New Orleans I personally wouldn't have given a second thought to the guy. Maybe the Giant's personel department is smarter than me, though.

Good bye New York and hello Baltimore. If not Baltimore, then Oakland has to be the best opportunity. I doubt he will be on the market very long.

Ah, what better environement for a rookie Giants QB to make his debut than in Philly?

Collins? Baltimore or Dallas would be my bet if he wants a start. Oakland probably ain't got the cap room.

Perhaps getting some free agents will help the cause.

Let me be the last person to discuss this, but the Giants gave up too much for Eli. Sure, you can make the Phil Simms comparisions to Phil Simms, but we won't know until he has played on the field. He was an outstanding college player, but thats college this is the big time. I think the trade will probably damage the Giants in the long run, in the short run if Eli can handle the pressure, there is already a ton on him, they can probably get to the playoffs. If he can't it will go down as the worst draft trade ever. It really is unfair to put that much pressure on the kid, but his family should probably have never opened their mouths about the Chargers in the first place.

Well I wouldn't run Tommy out of town, but I would damn sure get some insurance just in case.

As for Eli, well I was never sold on him in college.

Also remember that Maddox isn't exactly a young guy either, so even if he has a couple good seasons left it is good to think of the future, especially if you can get a good QB like Roethlishberger
