There's usually a bunch of movies that we, as a group, are looking forward to. Here's some of the films I'm looking forward to watching when they hit theatres:

-Troy; Wolfgang Peterson's depiction of the Trojan War.
-Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban; The first Potter movie was inspired and fun. The second...less so. But the trailer for the third, directed by upstart Alfonso Cuaron, actually makes me want to see it.
-The Terminal; Hanks. Spielberg. A triumph of the human spirit story. Remember that the last two films they made together where Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can. Ask yourself if this can be any better.
-Spider-Man 2; Line forms at right.
-Collateral; Tom Cruise is a hitman. Jamie Foxx is the cabbie who drives him around for a day.
-The Aviator; Martin Scorsese & Leonardo Dicaprio tackle Howard Hughes' zany life.

Breakin' All The Rules. This movie looks horrible, but I was in LA last year and got to watch a scene get filmed with Jamie Foxx and Peter MacNicol. So I'm curious to see how it shows up on film.

In between scenes, Foxx hit on my lunch date.

I'm not really that hyped about Spider Man 2. I'm sure I'll end up seeing it, but it really isn't that high on my radar screen.

I'm looking forward to Troy that looks fun. Day after Tomorrow fills my need for apocalypse films. Harry Potter is a must-see at this point. And the one I'm most intrigued by for the summer is I, Robot. The fact that it's being done by Alex Proyas (Crow, Dark City) make me very interested and willing to give the film a shot.

No doubt that I will see the new Harry Potter movie as soon as it comes out. I didn't know much about Potter and watched the first movie only because of the curiosity factor. Then after I got my sister the first book on CD, her husband got her the rest of the series on CD. I decided to take the plunge and listen to them, and I was blown away.

That being said, I think the fourth book blew the third one out of the water. So I guess I'm REALLY looking forward to the fourth movie, but first things first. It's not that the third book was bad (it was awesome actually), but 4 and 5 are so great.

Back on topic, I want to see Spiderman 2 of course. I'm more interested in a third X-Men movie. And there's just something about the cool previews for Sky Captain that might just make me take a look.

I'm sure moviegoers nationwide will be looking forward to the release of the next great cinematic masterpiece, WHITE CHICKS (imdb.com).

Iz˘: Kaosu mataha fuj˘ri no kijin. Takashi Miike directing Beat Takeshi and Bob Sapp in some sort of modern day Samurai movie. Apparently Miike and Kitano didn't like Kill Bill, so they decided to make their own movie. Good enough for me.

Godzilla: Final Wars. Something like 10 monsters, including one new guy. Godzilla's 50th anniversary opus. And it comes out on my mom's birthday, to boot.

Alien vs. Predator. "X" vs. "Y" will always be a good movie idea. The trailer is available on their ridiculous website. It makes it look like only one Predator, when I was hoping for three or so. Should still be good fun.

And the Olsen twins turn 18 in June, so hopefully their film making career will get more interesting later this summer.

I forgot!

Napoleon Dynamite. Something about some weird kid liking dance and ninjitsu. You had me at "ninjitsu."

And to prove that the trend of comic book related movies is getting closer and closer to the bottom of the barrel, we have Man-Thing! "He who knows fear, burns at the Man-Thing's touch!" Wait, they changed the tag to "The Nature of Fear." That's just plain stupid. As if making a movie on a forgotten comic from 25 years ago in which the hero can't even talk isn't stupid enough. I really hope this does well, though, so that I can finally get my Metal Men movie.

The total no-selling of The Incredibles in this thread boggles the mind. It's PIXAR DOING PEOPLE, PEOPLE!

Also, Azkaban will rule, but not as much as Spidey 2. The past chapters of each franchise have Sam Raimi's movie in the lead, because the first two Potter flicks were so unimaginatively made compared to their written counterparts. Buuuut Cuaron looks like he's brought his own eye to the film rather than the studio's, so good for him. Let's hope it pays off. Part Four's looking rocky though, mainly thanks to the stooopid rumor about Kate Winslet being cast as Fleur Delacour. Laaaame.

Oooh, ooh! Alexander. I'm predicting it scores the Farrell boy his first Oscar nomination.

That rumor has me a bit nervous as well. If this were a few years ago I would have said Julie Delpy would have been a perfect Fleur but now...I don't know who I would cast for that. But it wouldn't be Kate. Fleur needs to be haughtily beautiful, unlike Kate who is incredibly cute most of the time.

Er, I read somewhere that there will be a "21 Jump Street" movie, with Depp and Grieco making cameos, but not as their characters. I feel really wrong for not getting psyched for this, unless Holly Robinson sings the theme song again....sigh.

Also, anyone see the pictures of Kenan Thompson as Fat Albert (images2.wireimage.com)? That looks kinda funny for some reason.

I was more thinking that Fleur needs to be within at least five year's range of the age of sixteen, whereas Kate's 29 this year and hardly teenaged-lookin'. But your point also stands. There was also that DUMBASS untruth about Rowan Atkinson being cast as Voldemort doing the rounds a little while back, but I think that's been proven soundly false.

Other casting: If they can bigify Monica Belluci somehow she'd be great as Madam Maxime, and they NEED Tim Roth to do Karkaroff. And Billy Connelly is just a perfect fit for Mad-Eye Moody.

I'm more for the Tracy Morgan "Albert Wentworth" version of Fat Albert ... I'd pay to see that ... "eatin' food and bangin' on garbage cans"

A couple I'm looking forward to that haven't been mentioned are Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (looked like a fun special effects fest, and Angelina Jolie to boot) and Resident Evil 2.

Still haven't gotten to the Punisher yet, but that's on the list.

I'm really looking forward to Artemis Fowl (http://imdb.com/title/tt0364957/) even though I don't have any indication of if it'll be any good or not. The *books* are excellent, though.

Van Helsing looks like, as Tycho would phrase it, "Pornography for nerds". They really should just call it Castlevania though.

Well Liv Tyler as Arwen was the elf that launched the hands of a million nerds.

The Day After Tomorrow doesn't thrill me so much... mostly because I don't like disaster type movies.

Worst special effects since Hell Boy.
