I'm always amused that people just don't go to sites that actually post spoilers if they really wanted spoilers, because it's not only annoying to people who try to AVOID spoilers, but there seems little point in discussing a show you haven't actually SEEN because you can't give it a fair interpretation going on someone else's description. I wish people WOULD go somewhere else to deal with spoilers, but obviously they're not gonna, so there we are.

Scads of text in red italics probably wouldn't get read anyway, which defeats the purpose of the hide tags...which we'd only kept in mind for short phrases and maybe a sentence or two. That's why it IS red italic - so you know it's being hidden from the random lurkers.

I'm not sure our ultimate goal is to increase registration, anyway.

That was the other question that I forgot to post with the original idea.

A different registration/login question:

Why is it that the login is case sensitive? I attempted to register with a different case scheme, and it wouldn't let me, so registration isn't case sensative. Why the difference between the two?

And yes, this *is* my only worry in life

It's like a difference between a regexp match and an exact match, probably. Mostly to avoid confusion. Such as: mine, from your question!

Basically I'm just tired of having to log in twice because of the case sensitivity in the login form.

Can you just type it correctly the first time? And why don't you have cookies enabled so you don't have to log in every time?

Of course I can, and I do have cookies enabled at home. At work though, my computer is currently without net access, so I wander around the newsroom looking for an open computer. At 7:30AM, after directing the morning news, I have other things on my mind than whether or not to capitalise the Z when I log in.

Just a minor annoyance, and with the switchover to www.the-w.com I just happened to think of it again.

Can't* help you with this one, sorry. (Unless you'd like us to change your username to all lowercase, if that'd be easier for you?)

*In the interests of full disclosure, when I say "can't" here what I'm really saying is "don't want to."

Nah, that's ok, I was just curious. Don't mean to be a bother.

I just noticed that the "Reply/Quote/New Reply" buttons now don't appear when you are the last post in the thread. Pretty neat stuff.

Just wanted to compliment you on that, Zed/Guru, but I'm too lazy to start a new thread.

I was just wondering if that was a new feature, or something that I hadn't paid attention to before. (Of course, since I haven't posted in something like 3 weeks until now, it could've just slipped my mind, too.)

HAIL, fellow brother-who-has-to-log-onto-The Wienerboard-after-doing-the-AM-news!

Glad I'm not the only lonely TV soul 'round these parts in the AM.
