Just seeing if anyone saw this at the Torch:

Bret Hart did a short phone-in interview on MuchMusic. He didn't really say much, but was asked about the Wrestlemania match between the Rock and Hollywood Hogan, and who would win. He said that he thinks The Rock will win, and it is hard to call since he likes them both. They also asked him who he thought was a punk in wrestling, and he answered by saying Triple H is the worst, and at the bottom of the cycle. They did not ask him anything more about, WrestleMania or the WWF, just some video game questions. To me he came off a bit bitter.

Bret Hart? BITTER? Impossible. :D

I can tell he doesn't like HHH, after watching Wrestling With Shadows. But, what if he is working everyone and will help Jericho retain at WM. Damn that would be sweet.

I heard all about the Bret Hart as guest referee for Jericho/HHH thing. But if you ask me it would be more interesting to see him take a part in the Hogan/Rock match, after all Bret Hart was THE guy in WWF between Hogan and Rock's reigns, he could come in and talk about how he is better than the both of them.

You never know, if Bret really did turn down the Jericho/HHH thing maybe they asked him to do something else instead.

I heard that interview. He seemed more disinterested and annoyed than anything. But can you blame him when one of the people that is interviewing you is dressed up as "Captain Snow Job"??

To be honest... the way Bret's been bitching for years (he still bitches about what happened at Survivor Series), if I never saw him again on my TV, I wouldn't mind.

Y'know, sometimes bad things happen to bad people. OK. Get over it! Y'know what I mean?

The more I read about Bret, the more I believe that Vince is right. He really needs to get some psychological help.

See, I know I'm in the minority, but this only makes me like Bret even more. And Smokey the Cat was a million times cooler than Lucy the Dog.

Any time you find yourself writing a piece that includes the phrase, "Vince is right," or reading one, you must step back and ask whether you've missed something or not.

In this case, probably not. But doesn't it go without saying that a man who's been disabled out of his career, had his favor brother die in his prime, just lost both parents, and is estranged from the rest of his surviving family (however it got that way), badly needs to at least talk to somebody?

I guess even after all the blood over the dam, I'm a bit of a Brett mark.

Hey: I just violated the manifesto on my first post. I'm aware, and I'll do better. As the Freebirds said (ad nauseum), "We're sorry! We're really sorry!"

Agreed. The man is an immature little crybaby and needs to get over himself. He has a right to be upset about Owen, but so does the rest of the Hart family, all of whom have forgiven the WWF and even appeared on Raw. But what does Bret do... he turns his back on his f'n family!!! I mean how petty can you get?

Edit: Fixed a typo

One of the things that I bet just eats Bret up is the fact that some people think wrestling with shadows was a work! Any non-wrestling fan who i tell bret's story too automatically think it's fake, because it's wrestling, and I have a hard time convincing them otherwise.

Plus, hey, Bret WAS screwed. Maybe Bret wasn't an angel but he sure doesn't deserve what he got. Wrestling was his life - now what does he do with his time?

I say if Bret wants to whine, let him whine.

I realize I'm new here, but I NEVER liked Bret.

I honestly can't recall a time- even way back when he started in the wwf with the hart foundation. I think he's a boring wrestler, and when he started to open his mouth, I found it even worse. I loved seeing him get beat in the whole hart-austin saga of '97. I loved seeing him leave the wwf in montreal and i laughed my ass off at the midget bret the next night.

I'm sick of hearing about him and I'm sick of him thinking he's relevant.

But I'm sure what i said was nothing new.

You sure show a lot of respect to the guy that carried the WWF through the early and mid-90s. I won't get into an argument with you because I'm not fluent enough in English to support my point. Just note that I still consider Bret the really best there was.

The one problem I have with Bret's undying hatred of McMahon is that he did get some payback, but it's never enough. He got screwed, yes, but just a few minutes later, he got to live the DREAM. He got to cold-cock his punk-ass boss without serving jailtime! Personally, I can think of a few bosses I've wanted to belt, and if I could do it without taking an iron vacation, damn right I'd do it. But he's taken this hatred to a nearly unhealthy level. I say nearly because even though he seems obsessed, he hasn't been caught stalking him or planning Vince's slow and painful death in the dungeon (involving the use of a flamethrower, tongs, railroad spikes and a sledgehammer). But if Bret keeps on going with the total obsession, we may see Bret (and Vinnie Mac) on CNN!

You can respect the body of work without respecting the man. OJ Simpson was a great running back, but I have no respect for him at this time.

Let's not forget that Vince and the WWF offered him a spot at WM18, his tape archive that he's been egging him about for so long AND the chance to punk out Vince.

Bret said "no".

I was a wwf fan then, and for me, it was never about bret. I watched because of people like the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Curt Henning. I liked Owen much better.
