Tonight it's Montreal vs. Boston, as Montreal has battled back from a 3-1 defecit to tie this series. Right after, it's Calgary vs. Vancouver, after a heart-stopping Triple OT victory for the Canucks on Saturday night.
Tomorrow night is the final game in this year's Battle of Ontario. The Senators tied the series last night in Double OT to force this game.
The two OT games this weekend have left my nerves shattered and scarred. Logic can be thrown out the window in any Game 7. I do think Montreal will complete the comeback tonight, but I think you can flip a coin in the Flames-Canucks and Senators-Maple Leafs matches.
As I said somewhere else, the survivors of these game 7s will most likely be easy prey for their second round opponents. Promote this thread! | | Socks

Easy prey?? I beg to differ. If anything Ottawa has become more healthy as the series progressed, where as the Maple Leafs are proving that there age is much much more then a number.
Montreal looks strong, very strong.
I would not be happy to play either Ottawa or Montreal...just call them the comeback kids.
Looking forward to Tuesday night, going to be a barn burner...Will the Sens slay the proverbial dragon?? I think so.... | dunkndollaz

As for the Sens (my #2 team), I got the feleing they're riding high. If they kill the crowd next game....I like their chances to move on as well.

I've been a fan too long to think that the Bruins would actually win. The feeling last night wasn't even one of anger, just disappointment, resignation. The Bruins totally controlled the game, yet you just knew the Canadiens would come up with a goal somehow. | tarnish

The Bruins definitely played their best game of the series last night. They finally were able to use their size to neutralize the speed of Montreal.
But then there was the Theodore factor.
People who were wondering about Theodore at the start of the series can relax; he was just making sure he didn't peak to early
Pieman, I feel for you. Raycroft looks like the real thing, but the CBC broadcast of the game last night pointed out that Boston's got like 12 unrestricted free agents and only four guys under contract for next year (not under contract: Thornton, Samsonov, Nylander). Maybe with a lockout it won't matter. But you could be looking at a couple years of rebuilding. | JoshMann

I'd like to point out that Joe Thornton and I had the same number of points in the series, and my +/- was much better than Joe's -6. I know he had an injury, but he's the CAPTAIN, dammit.

| #15 Posted on 20.4.04 1146.02 Reposted on: 20.4.11 1148.07 | When Joe Thornton's injury comes out, people should get off criticizing him. From what I've heard, he had a rib injury that would normally keep someone like him out 4-6 WEEKS. He stayed out 2 games.
It's not Joe's fault, he did all he could do just to be on the ice. The blame for the Bruins should go on everyone else for not stepping up because they proved early in the series that they can score.
Michael Nylander never was really the same after hit early on. Gonchar kinda dissapeared too.
I would gloat and point out that I picked Montreal in 7 ("Montreal in 7. Even if Thornton plays, I don't think he'll be 100%. Theodore can be gold in the Playoffs. Raycroft's never been there. I think the Habs can score the upset.") and well I guess I just did. :b We'll just ignore the ones I got wrong. | The Goon

however - I have to give props to Tie Domi. He played his ass off the entire series, and not in a "goon"ish way. He tried to get to every iced puck, he hustled hard and set up the first goal in game 7, which was ALL him! Nice to see Domi pick up his game.
If you think about it, the Leafs have so much more than other teams to play for. Yeah theres the whole cup thing, which EVERY hockey player plays for, but for alot of the Leafs, this is it. This is their last run. Guys like Francis, Neuindyk (sp), Leetch, Johannson (sp) and Belfour dont have much else after this season. Especially since there is no next season anyways, with the stike expected to happen.
Good luck leafs.
