I don't think they did all that bad of a job with the nominations this year. DMB definitely deserved more than that received, as usual. I think they were right on with the various U2 and Outkast nominations, and if nobody else is, I'm thrilled with all the "O Brother" nominations (fine, I'll be the country one... Alison Krauss deserved all she got, too). Right on with the Ryan Adams nominations as well. And Jay-Z, for that matter. My only real complaint is the lack of DMB besides the couple or so that they did get.

Soundtrack to O Brother was the album of the year, in my opinion.

O Brother is definitely the best out of the albums nominated this year. Here's hoping it wins and just totally screws with everyone in LA's minds by taking home the Grammy and being a huge seller.

There, I feel better now.

It already IS a huge seller. Billboard.com says it`s gone platinum 4 times (4 million shipped).

I'm a big U2 fan, so I'm obviously pulling for them, but they really should've won last year since THEIR ALBUM CAME OUT IN 2000. Anything after Oct.15 is only eligible for the next year's Grammy awards. What a stupid rule.

Dave Matthews? Ugh... I have to admit to a rather large bias against Dave Matthews. Living as I do on the campus of the University of Massachusetts (at Amherst), it seems to me that every vapid, frat-boy clone college student that wants to espouse some sort of "thought" or "meaningful philosophy" inevtiably turns to quoting Dave Matthews via their instant messenger profile. However talented a musician he is (and I'll grudgingly admit that), I just can't get behind a man who is so popular with the unwashed masses of former high school jocks that populate my current surroundings.

I didn't make myself clear in the last post and said what I did not mean, because I did not mean what I said...or something like that. I want it to take home the Grammy so as to continue the great mind-screw since it's already a big hit, but I said it in a nice clear-as-mud sort of way.

There, I feel better now.

I just picked up "Everyday" about a week ago, and I must admit, it's pretty awesome. Definately Grammy material. That "The Space Between" song is on it - that's the one they use in the Black Hawk Down commercials (up here, anyway).

Dear Whoever Runs The Grammys: Please give Joe Satriani the Grammy he so richly deserves.

Thankyou.

Your Humble Servant,
BrewGuy.

I didn't really like "Everyday" all that much, except for "Space Between." I thought that was one of their most beautiful songs, and I'm actually surprised it didn't become a bigger hit than it did on the radio. When I saw DMB this summer, the crowd seemed to really *really* like the song.
