| #1 Posted on 17.4.04 1647.03 Reposted on: 17.4.11 1647.19 | Not like "Fear Factor" weird, but there must be something that you eat that makes your friends go "DANG!", or vice-versa, whether it's a not-quite-mainstream food or a weird combination that most wouldn't think of. I'd say I'm pretty mainstream, like this morning I put salsa on my Sausage McMuffin with Egg and today at lunch (which I was just eating, alone, and kind of got me on this li'l tangent) I had a chicken burrito with ranch dressing. Some might have a hard time with my choice of condiments, however.
On the other hand, I can remember as plain as day one time I went out to Denny's for breakfast with a buddy of mine. I think they were running a promo where you got three eggs, three pancakes, three strips of bacon, and hashbrowns for like $4.95, a perfect breakfast when you're around 22 and you've been out drinking all night and had like three hours sleep.
Anyway, my friend orders his eggs "over-medium", no surprise to me, nor is it a surprise when he puts the eggs on top of his pancakes. After that, my friend takes his hashbrowns and puts them on top of the eggs. Now, my friend has a ketchup "thing", and he takes the ketchup and adds it liberally onto the hashbrowns, stops after he's done and says "Damn. I was forgot about the pancakes under there. Now I can't put any maple syrup on this." Of course, he thinks about it a moment and ADDS IT ANYWAY. Argh!
To recap (by layer): Pancakes, over-medium eggs (with runny yolks, of course), hashbrowns, ketchup (no small amount), and maple syrup. The grossest thing for me was as he finished (yes, he ate every bite) he was scraping this brownish yolk/ketchup/syrup nasty mixture up like he hadn't eaten in weeks. G-R-O-S-S. Ketchup too, that'll go on everything that it can possibly. Actually, I'll get odd looks when I use it for a chicken breast or something. As if I'm ruining it. Pshaw.

So, for example, I'll eat pasta with a tomato sauce full of curry, or with salsa. I put curry and/or salsa on almost everything I eat. I also have a thing for macaroni with ketchup, but I don't do that all that often.

Used to do that with my PB&J sandwiches, although I never smacked.
I also used to go to McDoanld's, get a hamburger Happy Meal, and then put some of the fries in between the patty and the bun, both top & bottom. Tasted good, and brings on the inevitable heart attack that much quicker. | Mayhem

Did you serve in Korea? I have 2 cousins who did and they just are addicted to Kimchi. I can't get past the smell.
I don't know if it's weird, but I put so much pepper on my ketchup, the ketchup turns a dark red/black.
Also, I've had a Deer meatloaf a few times while visiting family in WV.
I also love sauces, just like Goddamn Jorden. I will go through phases where I'll dip or pour Ranch or Creamy Ceaser on any or all foods.

| #14 Posted on 18.4.04 0210.38 Reposted on: 18.4.11 0213.45 | When you live in a house and you don't have transportation, and you have a mother that's away alot, sometimes you have to be creative when it comes to food.
Some of my examples are the peanut butter and lettuce sandwich. The lettuce adds JUST the right amount of texture and it's somewhat flavorless too.
Then there's the concoction I call the "Ghetto Taco". Since there was no taco shells in the house, I took a piece of bread and melted taco cheese and jalepeno peppers on it. Then I topped it off with taco sauce.
Another one of my favorites is to take a piece of ham and lay a slice of Kraft cheese on it. Then put a baby carrot in the middle and roll it up.
It's probably not weird, but I also ALWAYS mix 7up/Sierra Mist with Mountain Dew.

About 20 years ago, when we got our first microwave, I used to make "Ghetto Pizzas".
Toast 2 slices of bread, then nuke it with your favorite toppings. At 7 years old, that was heaven. Both of my parents worked and my older brother was never home, so I had to fend for myself. | oldschoolhero

Burritos with cow tongue, kinda spongy, but good.
Thai Chicken pizza, with peanut sauce instead of tomato. But you can get that at chic pizzarias.
I know people who dip regular pizza into ranch, and that's wrong.
My brother used to, and still will, dip Saltines into Kool-aid. I still will eat powdered Country Time lemon drink. It's like those Dip-a-sticks.
Oh, and a piece of bread with tonpenade (more or less crushed kalamata olives), little bit of olive oil, and balsamic vineagar, some cheese, and sliced fuji apples, or golden delicious. Also like to put apples into Thai style curries I make. | GoddamnJordan
