| #1 Posted on 14.4.04 0007.32 Reposted on: 14.4.11 0010.57 | Hello everyone. I have decided to go from just reading the discussions to actually taking part in them. So if you dont understand that, it means Im new here...
Anyway, is it just me or is the WWE really leading us on about a WCW return? Now, I was always a fan of WCW, even in its declining years, so if it does come back, I hope they know what to do with it and I hope they do it well.
There have been several clues that are leading me to believe we may see the return of WCW in the near future. Here they are...
1.) - Johnny Nitro. Probably the most obvious "clue". Take a look at his last name. Take a listen to his music...it's the old Nitro theme. Look at the screen when he comes out...it's his name in the form of a Nitro logo. And he's an apprentice to Eric Bischoff.
2.) - Eric Bischoff. This guy nearly put WWE out of business in WCW's hey-day and now he has an apprentice working for him. Let's see...Easy E with an apprentice coming out with an almost "Nitro Gimmick". Hmmm...think of the possibilities.
3.) - The World Heavyweight Championship Belt. I know some of you might say this has nothing to do with a WCW return...but after all....it was WCW's belt before it was WWE's...
4.) - The Great American Bash. For those of you who don't know, WWE has decided to name one of their June PPV's "The Great American Bash". Considering they could have chosen any name for a PPV, why does the WWE decide to use an old WCW PPV name as one of their own?
Maybe those arent alot of clues. But just the whole atmoshphere as of late leads me to believe there could be a possible return. My bet is if there is a return, it would probably be around June because of the "Great American Bash" PPV. That's just me though. Personally, I would love to see a return. And if they use it right, it would make WWE a hell of alot more fun to watch.
So perhaps in the future we will see "Easy E vs. Vinnie Mac" part 2....
What do you all think?

1. Yeah? So? Or he's just kissing EB's ass.
2. He has an apprentice, kinda like...Chief Morley?
3. Oh yeah, they just started using that belt didn't they? (sarcasm)
4. they are starting to run 2 ppvs a month, why not use well known names??
You should really leave these types of posts for RAW discussion threads.
I wasn't going to respond, but then I saw you were from Macomb Michigan. "What's your name?" "It's Guybrush." "What kinda name is that?!" "Well what's yours?!" "Mancomb" Yeah I know it's Macomb, not Mancomb, but it brought a smile to my face | BigVitoMark

Johnny Nitro (w/theme song) is a dig at Bischoff, nothing more, nothing less. Sure, it drives home the point that the character is a kiss-ass, but it's surely there at least in part as a reminder of just who won the Monday night war.
The Great American Bash is a known name and, to be fair, was a pretty good name for a summertime PPV. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Armageddon moved to October and Starrcade return in December. It's a nice change from many of the PPV names that all kinda sound the same (Armageddon = Unforgiven = Judgment Day, and so on). | sergeial

I agree. Every PPV name other than the Big Four are about impending doom.

It would still be the same writers doing all the shows. what made it fun and great (wcw vs wwf) to watch was having the competition!!!!!!!! now there is nothing to make them try harder or due more! bottom line as long as Vince is the only player in the game why try to do something that might make people not watch it anymore! before they had to do new things to keep people watching and turning to the other channel. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
