Spike TV commercials say 10 PM. That day is my birthday, and I plan to be drunk at a bar by 10, so I'm sorta bummed. They're promoting a "Almost Live" show from Orlando, so I think you're correct. | Bullitt

I can never see that "Nose Nuggets" show. I think it was Child Stars vs. something else. I only caught it once, and missed out on the marathon a couple weeks back because of a family emergency.
That image of that old man and the dub of "Awwww Nose Nuggets!" makes me laugh so hard that I almost puke. | thefraserman

| #10 Posted on 17.4.04 1510.00 Reposted on: 17.4.11 1510.23 | This weeks edition Canadian TV guide has a nice piece on MXC (they called it MXC throughout LoL), crappy TV Guide Canada site doesn't have linke to the story but I have nothing better to do (gawd I'm sad) so I'll type it for you guys
---------------- Tuned In: Extreme-ly Funny
It seems fitting that interviewing the voice cast of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge should be an exercise in absurdity and futility. On conference call from LA, producer Paul Abeyta, Victor Wilson(voice of Vic), Christopher Darga(voice of Kenny), Mary Scheer(all female voices), interrupt and overlap each other untill it's hard to know who's making what crack.
Those who have discovered MXE, as it is fondly called, know that it's probably the funniest show on TV, but heaven help you if you try to explain the premise to the uninitiated. "The orginial Japanese show, Takeshi's Castle was sort of based on Nintendo games," Abeyta explains, shouting over the incessant wisecracking of his cast. That TV show ran in the 1990s in Japan.
Enter the MXE team, who met at L.A's Groundlings theatre companywhich has also spawned such talents as Will Ferrell and Phil Hardman), to overdub voices in English with no regard for the original Jpananese. "We don't even know what the original [narration] is" says Wilson, giggling. "We don't want to know. Hey, do we even own the rights to the audio?" he aks, but gets no answer.
In celebration of the third season, the team is shooting some new footage, substitutng Florida college students for stock footage. "Same difference, really," says Darga.
If you love Iron Chef, Mystery Science 3000 and Jackass, don't miss MXE. And remember: Don't get Eliminated. ---------------
Have they run out of Takeshi's Castle footage and now using current footage they film from Florida. That's kind of a downer, one of the real catches is the surrealness of the Japan show. But I won't lose hope, hopefully it's still as funny,
My personal favorite has to be the Halloween episode, I'm a mark for idiotic mascots anyways but people in restrictive mascot costumes running an obstacle course as jumping on stones where they have no chance of finishing because they can't even move their legs is golden! | Teppan-Yaki
