Does anyone know what ever happend to ProWrestlingColumns.com/PowerWithChoice.com? I haven't visited it in a long time and went to check it out to see if it was still there, and it's not. Just wondering if anyone followed it and knew anything about it...

Thanks...

I asked one of the old staffers, "Twitmare" if he'd like to answer this question. Here is his response:

They were trying to expand their material by doing more than just writing about wrestling. Problem is that they just couldn't get enough writers for the things they wanted to cover. Somewhat like the way 4-1-1 went eventually, but they were trying a more "alternative" approach. Writing about independant films, music, etc. But really, the only guys writing that stuff were Tony G & Ken Matthews. I had a few ideas of things to do, but I never had the time to do it. It's really hard to carry on a project like that when it's only one or two people, plus keeping up the money for it when the site had a lull in readers due to lack of content from nearly everyone, including the several most-read people on the site (different reasons for everyone).

I was against the format change because I didn't think we had enough writers for it, nor enough built up in reserve to make it last. But hey, I had no ownership in the place (for some reason, everyone thought I owned a site if I wrote for it... guess that was the only way anyone figured I could possibly write). I had nothing to lose, and both Tony & Ken were excited about it all... unfortunately, I was right. Credit to Tony & Ken, they did great on their part. No complaints about either of them, both good people and good writers. In a nutshell, bad timing & lack of resources killed it all.

BTW, for all his self-depreciation Twit was a great writer (and is one of the smartest and genuinely nicest guys I've been lucky enough to meet in this medium), and is currently making inroads to the business through other means.

Hope that helped. :)

Yes, that helps...thanks alot for the reply. I used to write there under the name Warr Pig and decided to go check it out to see if any of it was still around. I left right around when it made the change to PowerWithChoice. And yeah I was there when Twitmare was writing...Twitmare was a great writer. Thanks for the info...
