It wouldn't have been a big MNF-interrupting production. The terrorists would've been quietly arrested and hustled the hell off to prison, just like literally dozens of other terrorists activities are stopped each year without us ever knowing about them. Every once in a while, however, one gets through (i.e. the first WTC attack, Oklahoma City, 9/11).
Do I blame Bush for not stopping 9/11? Not really, since I don't think there's much he could've done. I think Bush should get his ass voted out of office for what he's done AFTER September 11th, not before.

Have to agree with OSH, I don't think they are taking the blame away from the terrorists at all, but could the government have done something to help prevent such a horrible happenings... I think this is more then fair, especially with a president who has no shame it trumping himself up as such a great leader post 9/11 for his own benefit. What's so wrong to look at what this great leader was doing pre 9/11.
Imagine if you pay for a high end home security alarm system. You know the ones you hear advertised on the radio with the dude speaking right out of the speaker to the actual burglar saying "The Police has just been dispatched!". Imagine if you have that but a night a prowler goes into your house, takes all your stuff leaves and in nothing of the alarm went off... Sure the burglar is the bad guy, and your focus is to get your stuff back and hope the cops catch him before he can invade another persons home. But you will also take some time to contact your very expensive house security system and ask "What went wrong on your end?"

Is "OSB" supposed to mean Osama Bin Laden or is it someone else?
Sorry - yeah. I spend so much time listening to the cia analysts and guys like that on Fox and MSNBC as well as in usenet and they all call him OBL - or sometimes UBL - I mistyped - I am aflicted with spoonerism fairly badly.
