I was just thinking about bands that I've always wanted to see live, but haven't gotten around to. Anybody else have a list of regrets? Here's my list:

Green Day

Bad Religion

Tenacious D (their show here next month sold out in like half an hour! argh!)

Eels (but I'm going March 30!)

Green Day was on my list.. but i just got tix to see them and Blink this summer. i'm no Blink fan, but it was worth it to finally see Green Day..

but the others...
Beastie Boys
Alkaline Trio
U2 (i've tried on every time they've swung through in the past 5 years, but have yet to get a single ticket)

and one that'll never happen:
Nirvana (was deathly ill when i had a friend offer me a ticket... stupid stupid me)

I kicked myself a thousand times over for not seeing Godspeed You Black Emperor when they swung through last year. That's the ultimate mistake, but a few others I am lamenting and in some cases hope to correct

-Smashing Pumpkins
-Billy Joel
-And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead
-All of the 80's cheese bands just for nostalgia (Poison, Warrant, Bon Jovi, etc.)
-Wu-Tang Clan, just because I love to watch train wrecks.

I tried to sneak underage into a Suicidal Tendancies show many moons ago ... and the big burly bouncer at the door threw me out on my ass. The only chance I ever had of seeing them.

I believe I`ve seen most of my favorite bands. Not counting ones that are no longer together (I wish I`d been around for Talking Heads and The Clash), yes I have seen all of my favorite bands. There are newer bands I`d like to see live (Jimmy Eat World, Tenacious D) but looking at the list of my favorite bands, I believe I`ve seen them all at least once. Wow.

I've been to see every single band I ever wanted to see....except maybe Queen. The list goes: Rush (once), HUM, (once), Moxy Früvous (five times), They Might Be Giants (twice), Matthew Sweet (once). I would have liked maybe to see Rage Against The Machine, but I didn't start liking them until after they broke up. Ben Folds Five would've been a good show as well...damn my wife for going to see them before she met me. Someday, you will see me at a Tenacious D show...wish I had caught their double bill with Weezer, another band I would very much love to see. They played a secret WBCN show in Wellfleet a couple months ago...the next day I was greeted by a huge picture of Rivers Cuomo on the front page of the Cape Cod Times. Damn, the list is longer than I thought.

I had tickets too see Tool in Detroit last September 16th, but it was just a few days after September 11th and things were all up in the air about what was going on so I opted not to make the trip across the border.

I would love to see REM but getting tickets for them is nigh on impossible when they do tour. My biggest regret at the moment was from a few months ago when a mate of mine said "Hey, I'm going to see the Strokes tonight and I've got a spare ticket, they're a new American bad who're supposed to be pretty good. Wanna go?" and I said "No, I can't be bothered to go out tonight". Stupid, stupid boy.

Actually, I really can't think of any bands still performing that I would want to see that I haven't already seen at one point or another. A partial list of those already seen in something that might resemble chronological order. Billy Idol at Red Rock, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Petra, Allison Krause, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, The Hooters, Depeche Mode, Black Flag, Flock of Seagulls, Dead Milkmen,Duran Duran, Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffett, GWAR, Smashing Pumpkins (opening for), Melissa Etheridge, Warren Zevon, Primus, Fishbone, Queensryche, Lollapalooza 1,2,& 3, Billy Joel and Elton John, Hank Williams Jr., dc Talk, Poison, LA Guns, Great White, Ratt, and assorted other local or less well known bands. I still regret turning down the tickets to see the Eagles on the Hell Freezes Over Tour, but I thought I had to work.

Being an agnostic, I'm not much of an authority on Christian Rock. But having dated one of those really fiercely born-again chicks, I was exposed to some of it, and I can categorically say that there are so many better Christian acts than Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant and dc Talk, it's not funny. I actually heard some that I liked. Something Mullen or something (Rich?) was good. Nice dichotomy with GWAR, though.

Really? That was the only time I saw them and they were excellent. And of course, Mike Doughty`s solo "small rock" is highly recommended as well. But that was another thread a few weeks ago.

I need to see Metallica before I die, that's definite.
Others are:

Luckily, I'm going to Ozzfest at Castle Donington in a couple of months, where I will be seeing

Ozzy (Yes!)
System Of A Down
Slayer (for the second time)
Cradle of Filth (second time)
Hundred Reasons (THIRD time)
Mad Capsule Markets
Ill Nino

And about 20 more bands... Sweet!

For me, I've seen most every band I wanted to see except for Cheap Trick and Mr. Bungle.

Heck, anything Mike Patton masterminds I wanna see live.

Cheap Trick owns it all live. I just wish I could have seen them during the 4 night stand at Metro when they did the first 4 albums one each night.

I had tickets to a Nirvana show, but didn't go so I could hang out with a friend from outta town. Cobain was dead like a month or 2 later. Then I was gonna go see the Ramones in a little club, something came up so I figured I would see them the next time around. Sadly, Joey Ramone has passed on. Those are probably the 2 I regret not seeing the most.

Cheap Trick played the infield for the Kentucky Oaks last year and rocked the house!!! We got put on tv doing a VERY bad version of "I Want You to Want Me" acapella, and I got a guitar pick.

Unfortunately, this year we are being punished for last year's awesomeness with Starship. We might have to move our little party a little further from the stage this year.

I'll probably be too hung over from the Wing Ding to care, or I'd better be.

I got to see a ton of bands I'd wanted to see when I went o OzzFest last year. Saw Mudvayne, Slipknot, Sabbath, Manson, Hatebreed and a bunch more.

Bands I still wanna see live are:
System of a Down
Rob Zombie

Looks Like I'll have a good chance to see ALL of those bands except Metallica because those bands are gonna be on OzzFest this year.
