I'll repeat what I said in the my post...
"I really don't know what to think about this. It's in a field, so it could be a Bat-Hummer(He did have a tank in the comics once.) but if THIS is really the Batmobile, I'm dissapointed.
I mean they got a kick ass cast and then screw the pooch on the second most important cast member? I say thee nay!
Could be worse I guess, Batman could be all fast and furious, but atleatst that would fit the character better."

Batman. Fighting crime in Gotham City, a HYOOGE metropolis (no pun intended). At the beginning of the mythos of the Caped Crusader...
...And the Batmobile has all-terrain, off-road tires and armor that would make an M1A1 Abrams tank blush?!

I like this one. Instead of trying to make some flashy bat-like car, they're using a vehicle that's actually practical. Moriarty from aintitcool.com:
This is The Tumbler, built as a bridging vehicle for the military, then never used. Goyer describes it the first time we see it as "a cross between a Lamborghini Countach and a Humvee. Sandy camouflage, stealthangled panelling and variable-angle flaps across the back." It can do a rampless jump at 100 mph. It was built by the Applied Research branch of Wayne Corp., which is how Bruce Wayne stumbles across it. He modifies it a bit, and the result is the thing that's already being so hotly debated by fans. It's a real-world vehicle, practical rather than "cool," and that's a pleasant surprise.
So yeah. Let's look back at the last few Batmobiles used in the last films. You would rather use those? Or would you rather this movie be a little more realistic? I think if I was Batman, I'd want the tank-car rather than the one with neon lights all over it and a huge Bat-fin on the back. | Matt Tracker

Exactly. Any vehicle has to fit the story. Bruce has to have a reason to modify a military vehicle for his use as Batman. If they just use it so he can drive in to Gotham City, it's a little too overboard. But in today's times, I think this is something that would genuinely scare people when they saw it coming at them, as opposed to a car shaped like a Bat. So it might work.

| #15 Posted on 31.3.04 2353.24 Reposted on: 31.3.11 2353.35 | No problems with the Batmobile. In Dark Knight Returns, the Batmobile was even more Urban-Assault than this, it should be noted. This seems more like the "prototype" Batmobile, as this is supposed to be more of a year one type deal. I mean, Bats probably won't throw a single batarang through the flick, and I'd be shocked if his grapple line even looks a little jerry-rigged. Does it look like the Batmobile we all know and love? No, and it shouldn't. It's the prototype. | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
