Now, I don't know what all of you thought about the "Lucy" scene. But, I can tell you, that as a dog owner, I didn't think it was funny at all. But, there were other people who didn't appreciate the scene one bit: the Humane Society. The main thing involved is, of course, cruelty to animals. I can tell you this from experience. I used to have a beagle who had one of her hind legs run over, and she had to have an artificial leg that didn't even touch the ground. She died two years ago because she was too old. And, I'll say this. Watching that scene last night gave me flashbacks. I think the Humane Society is doing the right thing by filing this lawsuit immediately could be a big step. I think the WWF needs to think twice about using any more animals in future storylines.

Geez, I'm sure they didn't actually hurt the poor dog. How is this different from all those movies where at the end they have the "no animals were harmed in the making of this film" disclaimer. And what the heck grounds are they suing on? You got a link to a press release or something?

Not that I don't partly agree, but come on... the dog wasn't REALLY hurt. Wrestling, need I remind, is a WORK. Besides, shouldn't they have come down on the Boss Man/Al Snow "I made you eat your chihuahua" skit if they were going to do anything?

The lawsuit is silly. What they did was no different than what they do in movies such as "There's Something About Mary".

Of course, there was a difference. TSAM was funny, the RAW segments were not. And they did have to know that somebody would get their panties in a wad over this. Now if it was killer material, maybe it would be worth it. But this is going to a legal headache all for the sake of running sucky segments.

Oh jesus, Give me a break. Are you serious? ITS TELEVISION!!!! The dog wasnt hurt. I hope this is a joke. If you are actually upset over the treatment of "lucy" then have your mom and dad explain to you the concept of TV.

"Well, I know we never actually saw the dog get run over, but we could hear her! She HAD to be under the car!"

Speaking of which, I STILL can't believe Rock wasn't really in the ambulance!

I was shocked when I read that!

SHOCKED!

OH PLEASE give me a break. If this is true, the Humane Society should also be told that Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy don't exist.

Somehow I think this type of publicity is what Vince wants though...

Seems kinda funny that the Humane Society would take such offence. Maybe next some organization against violence against women can chime in with a law suit. I'm sure there are people out there who find people fighting each other to solve their problems offensive too, so maybe they can cash in at the WWF's expense too. I think the Humane Society is just trying make a name for themselves at the WWF's expense. It's a fricken tv show. If anyone was that offended by the Lucy incident, they probably shouldn't have been watching a show where grown men kick each other's asses.

This is a lie. There is nothing to sue about. If that were the case, the people who made"Something About Mary" would have been sued too. This is someone wanting to get some responses to his post.

I think they should have had Jericho feed Lucy to a snake... now THAT would be a GREAT angle.

If they can get sued for this, then every wrestler on the roster should get arrested for assault and battery charges. It's just as real and potentially offensive.

Heh. I posted a reply about this in the Recap forum before i saw this thread. But anyway. The Humane society can sue because the WWF didn't but a disclamer saying that no animals were hurt. If they did then they wouldn't get sued. If you remember when WCW had two dogs attack Sting, at the end of the show they put up the disclaimer. Watching the show i half expected it to be at the end, but when it wasn't I was shocked. I sorta hope that they do sue the WWF. Maybe they'll realize that their story lines SUCK ASS right now.

And what proof would the Humane Society have that any animal was actually hurt? Any judge who's worth his or her bench would dismiss the suit as nothing more than just another special interest group trying to perform a shakedown on a profitable corporation. As much as the storylines in the WWF stink right now, I wouldn't wish that type of corruption to be thrusted on them.

If the WWF had run a disclaimer at the end of the show saying that the dog wasn't really hurt, wouldn't that have negated the whole point of the angle? I mean, there wasn't much point to the angle in the first place, but (even though 99 percent of the audience knows it's all a work) that still would have just looked stupid ...

Next thing you'll tell me is that they should've run another disclaimer after RAW saying that Triple H's leg is fine and that Jericho didn't REALLY hit him with a sledgehammer ("No humans were harmed in the filming of this episode") ...
