It's 8 Seasons of South Park so far and I think I will have to give it up to Trey and Matt. They have done what no one has been able to do ever. Stay consistent for more then 8 years. No show has ever been on the air so long without getting stale. Not Simpsons, not Friends, not Seinfield, not Lucy. Today I watched a handicap kid take steriods in the special olympics. A premise so disgusting and crude you can't help but smile. I was watching what I thought was a ho-hum show. And then it happened...

Jimmy beat the living shit out of his girlfriend and mom during a 'roid rage. Fucking Jimmy.

I laughed so hard that my heart stop beating and I fell out the chair. I would have died if my wife wasn't there to kick me back to life. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. I know I SHOULD be ashamed of myself, but that is what makes it even funnier. Every show isn't a hit of course. I think it gets close to being trite when the show gets too topical. Last week's and the Saddam capture being the exception. I wish we could lock Matt and Trey in a cell so they can do nothing but churn out South Park goodness.

Are you serious?!?!?! That sounds like the funniest thing EVER, I can't believe I missed that...last week's show with Japanamation was great "Bulrog has many powers"...I have to say that South Park and Chappelle's Show have to be, in my opinion, the best hour on TV today...Man I will have to make a point to find a replay and watch it...Chappelle's Show was great last night with the Knee High Park thing, I died when that Oscar the Grouch puppet sang the "Fuck it" song, I am laughing right now thinking about it

The cameos by McGwire, Bonds and Giambi were classic.

A little Jimmy goes a long way, but he was used well last night. Reducing his stammer helps a lot.

And if Mel Gibson's ears were burning after the last two weeks, they'll be cinders after next week's episode...

The last new episode run kinda sucked (the exception being Christmas in Canada), but they're two-for-two so far with this one. The McGwire/Bonds/Giambi bit was funny, but recycled from the "Butters parents try to kill him" episode with O.J./Condit/The Rammseys.

The whole Jimmy thing was a paradoy of some movie-of-the-week from the 80's about some pro-athlete taking steriod until they destroy his life where he beats up his girlfriend and alienates his friends. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but the Jimmy parody was so god damned hilarious. "See, why'd you make me do that?!"

Cartman using computer animation and careful research to act retarded only to get screwed in the end because he's a lazy, selfish piece of fat-shit wasn't too shabby as a side-story, and it was nice the way the got tied in together at the end. "See you guys, I only acted retarded so I could teach Jimmy his lesson about taking steroids." Priceless.

As long as selfish little bastard Eric Cartman gets his plan screwed over by the end of the show, I'll laugh. They keep finding ways for him to be MORE greedy and heartless. I don't know why it's so funny to me, but it is. Rule #1: Stay true to your characters.
I was a little disturbed by Jimmy beating the crap out of a girl, cartoon or not. I guess WWE hasn't totally desensitized me yet.
I was half-expecting Timmy to just give up and go off on a lecture, a la Silent Bob.
The second I saw Bonds, Giambi, and McGwire, it all made sense to me (but where was Sosa?) When Trey and Matt have a point to make, they NAIL it. Agree or disagree with them, I alway applaud their cleverness.
VOLUNTEER: So what are you? Cerebal Palsy? Down's Syndrome?
CARTMAN'S MOM: ERRR....UM.. Eric what are you?
CARTMAN: How should I know? I'm a retard!!!

By the way eight seasons doesn't mean eight years, does it?
Damn!

Were you talking about this classic? Starring everybody's favorite actor, BEN AFFLECK?

I was rolling when Timmy was trying to explain stuff to Mr. Mackey. That was one of the funniest damn episodes I have seen in awhile, and am eagerly awaiting more.

And yes I do think new South Park/new Chappelle is the funniest hour of TV on right now, and last nights episode was great. Kneehigh Park was awesome, but I also enjoyed the making the band parody.

I gotta go close down the studio again.

Thanks to that episode I will laugh my ass off any time I hear "All Out of Love" by Air Supply.

This week's episode was great. I wasn't sure if they were going to go the "Lassie" route when Timmy talked to Mackey. Glad to see they didn't!

I think South Park just continues to stay strong unlike some other shows *coughSimpsonscough*.
Last year was great, especially the Christopher Reeve episode & my fave Cartman's Christian rock band.

Not necessarily. The show premiered on Comedy Central less than seven years ago (August 1997). What happened was I think they started their second season pretty early in 1998. The thing is, its not like a regular show on network TV where it goes from Fall-to-Spring, since we see new South Park episodes at all sorts of crazy times over the year, even the middle of summer.

Sorry for getting off topic, but SeVen, who is that foxy lady in your post background. She's smegging gorgeous! If its your wife, I apologize...don't hurt me .

1997 still doesn't seem that long ago to me, but I guess it is.
I remember attending a Monday Night Raw in December 1997 where the New Age Outlaws came wearing their South Park T-Shirts. This made them even more popular. Nice to see South Park is still around, even though the Outlaws are long gone.

I love South Park. It is absolutely hilarious. As a matter of fact, right now it is only competing with Chappelle's Show, which airs RIGHT after SP.

South Park is so up to date. They often take up social issues and make great points, in a hilarious way. Pure genius!!

Mr Macke: Now Timmy, you want to talk to me about something? I'm your counselor, you can tell me anything.

Timmy: TIMMY! JIMMY! TIMMY! JIMMY! etc. :)

Butters, as always, was gold in that episode. I guess I just kinda forgot about that one. It didn't really stand out in my mind or anything since I thought most of the Stan gothic stuff was boring, but the Butters sub-plot was awesome. I'm waiting for the Token-Stan blowoff, though.

I almost fell off my couch when Timmy tried to tell Mr. Mackey about Jimmy, especially when he mock-injected himself, pulled out a Hogan pose and said, "JIMMY!" Great episode. I haven't laughed that hard at South Park in a while.

I actually don't like how Trey and Matt have to make the subtle satire they've been playing with so blatant at the end to drive the point home, although the bit with Jimmy calling Bonds, Sosa, and Giambi pussies was funny, (even if recycled).

As disturbing as it might have been to watch Jimmy beat up his girlfriend and mom, he had to do it to complete the roid rage cliche. That, and the after school special style music made the scene work.

Its so funny that Cartman put so much effort into feigning retardation that he forgot he's fat (er, big boned) and horribly out of shape. Using computer graphics to study the walk was brilliant.
