He is brutal with Edge & Christian's moves.
Speaking of JR, all those who give Hogan grief for repeating a phrase all night should count how many times JR says Angle is "going Olympic". | EastCoastAvenger

| #22 Posted on 12.3.02 1621.51 Reposted on: 12.3.09 1624.24 | | Hey, thanks a lot everyone! After drinking my way through several pints of Guinness with some friends on the beach and stumbling home, one of the final thoughts before my head hit the pillow (the other being, "is this MY room?") was to wonder if I was too hard on JR. I woke up this morning with a mild hangover and a little guilt at my verbal bitch-slapping of the old guy and wondered if my anger towards Hardcore Holly and Tazz has colored my view of EVERYTHING in the WWF. Well, after a good lunch and reading the comments here, I can safely conclude: I'm right and JR is in fact, a total asspipe! Inferior work is inferior work, no matter who chooses to accept it and no matter how long we've had it forced down our throats. As for the merchandise, if the WWF were willing to sell some jeans with Al's "THe Snowman Cometh" design on them, They'd have at least ONE buyer right here! | BDC

Anyway, I wish I could bring myself to turn off the sound and watch Raw and PPVs without it...or somehow filter out JR. Because I will not be able to stand him making further comments along with the one he made last night. During the main event, right before the pinfall, JR made the following call:
"Hogan and The Rock! Who'da ever thunk it? Who'da ever thought it could happen? But its gonna happen, in six days on PPV! A match I've waited for my entire life!"
Say what?????? His entire life??? Even though Rock has only been a professional wrestler for 6 years? Even though he's been a main eventer for only 3? His ENTIRE life?

I'm not saying that his announcing has been bad and that it won't be "eh" to "crappy" in the future, but you have to cut him a little slack, at least for the time being, when you consider the upcoming spilt which has to be a nightmare to co-ordinate. | EastCoastAvenger

I don't think it's as important to get talent over in the ring if they're lower-card people, so I don't care if Ross messes up on occasion during filler matches. Still, I agree Ross has been doing a pisspoor job over the last few months. BTW, I noticed one of the recappers [was it CRZ?] referred to the Snow Plow as a brainbuster too. If most of the people don't know or care what Snow's finisher is called, why is it such a big deal? | EastCoastAvenger

But why is it a big deal? Not so much this faux pas(if you weel), it's simply the straw that broke the camel's back. Besides, it's Al F'n SNOW! THe man has enough trouble getting over without JR fucking things up for him too! Jeez... Al Snow --> Snow Plow. Is it REALLY that difficult? | SerWolfe

| #29 Posted on 13.3.02 1053.03 Reposted on: 13.3.09 1059.11 | From CRZ's recap:
(GOOD OL' JR: "Brainbuster!" Jesus CHRIST Ross, it's only his FUCKING FINISHER) 1, 2, 3 - ladies and gentlemen, we have a new hardcore champion
CRZ is pretty damn good with the names for moves. I'm not sure which recapper might have goofed it up but maybe they were listening to jr and didn't catch the move? I dont know but the point of this post is that Snow is in the ring on Raw getting a win for the hardcore belt. The announcers should know the name of the move they use to finish the match. Especially if it is a unique move to that wrestler that is used quite often. | Ike

You, good sir, are insane. Cornette's voice is second only to Stephanie's in making me say "Oh god! The pain! Make it stop!" The man might know the business better than just about anyone else out there, but I don't think he belongs behind the commentary table.
I could understand if a fan watching the show forgot the name of a finisher or two, but Jim Ross is the main play by play man in the WWF. To me, this says he should be able to call the play by play by knowing the damn moves. If he's lost it that much or can't be bothered he should be removed.
Of course, you'll see Stephanie taken off the show long before J.R. is gone. He'll leave when he's damn good and ready (or another bout of Bell's Palsy hits -- and I certainly don't wish that on anyone).
