Cheer up, Bucs fans...at least you got ol' Joey One-Ball. (Green Bay Press-Gazette)

I speak, of course, of Packers punter Josh Bidwell...whose bio, oddly enough, is still up on www.packers.com.

(image removed)

So long, Josh. You were one courageous dude, beating testicular cancer and everything...too bad you kind of sucked the last 2 seasons. Good luck, pal.

Yeah. Brad Johnson was the one who forced Rich Gannon to have an all-timer of a bad game AND returned those three interceptions for TD's. Take THAT, Tom Brady!

Hey, I'm a Bucs fan. But, in fairness to Gannon, Gruden ran the practice before the Super Bowl, calling almost the entire Raider offensive playbook. I can't remember who it was who they had mic'd on the sideline (I think it was Lynch) who said, "Every play they've run, we ran in practice." Later, on an ESPN special, I saw one of the players comment that Gruden was doing such a good Gannon impression that he even had all the fakes, looks, hitches and general shoulder posture that Gannon has. Apparently, it was uncanny.

And, really, if the game's on the line, I'd rather have Vinatieri than Grammatica. Twitchy little Martin would probably break his own leg by trembling on the sideline.

And yes, I dread this coming Bucs season.

In fairness, you do have a spanky new offensive line to look forward to not to mention Charlie Garner who can be darned dangerous if you can get him motivated. Add to that the possibility of getting back a healthy Alstott (if he stays) and the offense should certainly look a whole lot better.

Latest on Lynch (according to ESPN) is that he's Denver bound by the way.

Here's something on Lynch and Denver. Click Here (denverpost.com)

As for the Buc's new OLine, Todd Steussie is the best man on that line. When you have to settle for picking up Matt O'Dwyer from the Bengals, you know you're in trouble.

More good non-news.

Lynch is leaning toward Broncos (boston.com)

By Michael Smith, Globe Staff, 3/21/2004

John Lynch is not coming to New England. But Patriots fans may take solace in the likelihood that Lynch won't be an annual visitor, either, as the rival New York Jets also are on the verge of losing out on the five-time Pro Bowler.

It appears Lynch, a Tampa Bay Buccaneer the first 11 seasons of his career, will be wearing a different shade of orange this year. Last night, a source close to the player indicated the safety is leaning heavily toward choosing the Denver Broncos over the Jets and Oakland Raiders.

Lynch's wife, Linda, and father, John, a former linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, are said to be in support of Lynch joining the Broncos. A decision could come as early as today.

The Broncos meet Lynch's top two criteria. Denver would be a good spot for his family (which lives in Del Mar, Calif.) and the Broncos are perennial Super Bowl contenders.

The source said Lynch also was attracted to the idea of stepping right into the starting lineup and being the unquestioned leader of Denver's defense, which ranked fourth in the league last season but was exploited by Peyton Manning and the Colts in the first round of the playoffs.

The Patriots never made Lynch a formal offer, according to the source.

******

Sounds pretty good for the Donkeys right now.

Also don't underestimate the fact that the Bucs will be playing a third-place schedule.

That's not really so true any more. All of the NFC South teams play each other home-and-home, all four AFC West teams, and all four NFC West teams. The other two games are against one NFC North and one NFC East team, and those are the only variables.

Atlanta plays at home against Detroit and at the Giants.
Carolina plays at home against Green Bay and at Philadelphia.
New Orleans plays at home against Minnesota and at Dallas.
Tampa Bay plays at home against Chicago and at Washington.

Tampa Bay gets an easier road than Carolina and New Orleans, but not by as much as they might have in the past.

It's a Done Deal (theredzone.org) with the Broncos. Lynch, Bailey, and Kennedy... that's a pretty formidable group. Yay for my Broncos! Things are looking pretty good.

Provided that Lynch can regain his 2002 form and the offense doesn't suck ass, this should be a good year.

Holy freaking Orange Crush! This almost makes up for the idea that the QB rotation could be Jake Plummer, backed up by Kordell Stewart.

As a fan of the lovable Donkeys, I don't think I've ever entered a season with so many questions. Not to mention the fact that I have absolutely no clue what to expect from them now.

Actually, Kennedy's not too spectacular. Nick Ferguson is the better half. I think Kennedy will be okay with having to sit in favor of Lynch-- less chance for Kennedy to fined, that way. I'd throw Sam Brandon in the mix, but he seemed to disappear once the season started.

I was in Tampa last week, and Lynch's release was being reported as a regional crisis. Thought to myself "be cool if we (Broncos) got 'im. Naww..they'll already made their splash with Champ Bailey". Got back to Denver on Monday and I was thrilled to see Lynch's mug on the news.

If Bailey and Lynch were in the lineup last year, things might have worked out differently. Particularly the November MNF game against the Patriots. The Patriots exposed just how weak the Broncos' secondary was as they walked down the field in the final minutes. If the Broncos had won that game, the AFC balance would have been titled toward Denver. Clinton Portis was nice, but I really believe Mike Anderson or Quentin Griffin could have netted similar results. But Bailey and Lynch could have made a difference.

Welcome to the Mile High City - the secondary shouldn't be a massive question mark for the first time since likes of Dennis Smith, Steve Atwater and Louis Wright roamed around back there.

I like the TE signing and Droughns coming back at FB is a nice move - still not sold on the rest of the RB situation or the WR's......is it July yet ?
