Len Pastabelly is reporting that Garcia has agreed to a four-year, $25 million deal with the Cleveland Browns, even though daddy said otherwise.

Completely off-topic, but Broncolanche, your avatar rules.

I also heard Tampa Bay rumours about Garcia too.

(As a Browns fan, it truly pains me to say this.) Let me echo the avatar love for Broncolanche as well.

Stations here are reporting this as a done deal. Sounds like Couch is done here. Also great to hear T.O. balking at the Ravens. All we need now is a stud offensive lineman and we'll be in decent shape for the season.

Espn is reporting a strong possibilty that Couch will head to Dallas.

I personally think that Tim Couch would be a nice fit for San Diego.

No, no, no. San Diego already has three mostly functional QBs...Flutie, Brees, and the draft pick coming in April.

Dallas has nothing...NOTHING.

You say that like its a bad thing

I still think the Ravens would have done better to use some of their cap room getting Couch (or even Garcia) than they were blowing most of it on TO.

Boller and Wright are both pretty sucky (though compared to Redman I guess their world beaters). It really doesn't matter whose catching the ball when the guy throwin it can't get it to them.

I can't say I'd be trembling at the prospect of Dallas getting Couch though he's clearly an improvement. Maybe if they can find a running game to back him up, but Couch and Keyshawn as your stars on offense?

Bring it on.

Can someone explain this to me:

Quoted from an ESPN.com article

When Owens failed to file the request to void the contract, it was believed he had three seasons left.

However, Gene Upshaw, the union's executive director, said there are two years left.

"That was a mistake by the 49ers," Upshaw said. "There are just two years remaining, and we think we have a good case for voiding them."

Well, Keyshawn alone is not scary. But when's he's your possession guy with Terry Glenn, Antonio Bryant and Joey Galloway (looks like he's staying put maybe) at your other receiver slots...a pretty darn solid offensive line, a functional QB (Couch) and the running back they HAVE to pick up before the season starts (Corey Dylan, maybe)...it starts to get at least a little better for fans of the 'Boys. Plus they had a pretty good defense last year and at this point, Ryan Young, an offensive lineman, is all they've lost.

I thought the only way Keyshawn was coming was if Galloway went the other way? I take some convincing that Terry Glenn can string together 2 or 3 good years, but Corey Dylan would give me cause for concern.

I have no clue. How in the heck do you NOT know how long you've got one of you star players tied up for?

The whole things pretty weird. Last I saw they were planning on taking action against Owens agent (who allegedly had been informed of the date change) but were still arguing TO should be a free agent.

Football never used to be so complicated....

EDIT: The Eagles just signed Dhani Jones from the Giants to replace Emmons. Can't says he made an impression on me when I saw the Giants this year but his numbers look pretty good, and Reid showed last year he can find a guy to fit the system at LB.

But Galloway might be waived, regardless.

Kind of odd the Browns spend money on a 34 year old QB with a drunk driving charge pending. Seems like they needed more help elsewhere other than QB.

Dillon didn't seem too impressive last year. Rudi Johnson put up better numbers than Dillon in the games that he started.

The 'boys should aim higher than Dillon, in my opinion. He's overrated.

True, but, Dillon is helluva lot better than the "running back" Dallas started last season, in Troy Hambrick.

THat I'll grant you. But I don't see anyone else out there thats better. Hearst doesn't strike me as being the answer, and reports seem to be suggesting that Dillon would accept a contract that had a few if's and buts regarding how much he gets paid depending on his productivity. That should at least ensure that guys motivated.

They also don't necessarily need a big time RB. They've got decent receivers, a passable QB (assuming Couch comes) and a strong D. As long as teams believe they're willing to run it (not the case this year) then they should see a big improvement.

I still say we'll stuff them mind ;)
