| #1 Posted on 25.2.04 2019.58 Reposted on: 25.2.11 2020.07 | Good day once again. This is your resident Line man speaking, welcoming you to this edition of the Raw Lines.
Raw Lines: February 23, 2004
New readers, and those with bad short term memory alike, this one is for you.
Lines Decoder Edition 5
A quick note based on observation. When you reply, people stop in to read said reply, and generally stop in to read Lines. Just saying is all.
Till next line...

| #3 Posted on 26.2.04 1915.46 Reposted on: 26.2.11 1917.37 | I was once informed that people printed these out on occasion. Probably why I try to post corrections every so often when I find errors. At any rate, if you decide to print them, be forewarned, the print is small, you might go blind, and I cannot be held responsible. Although if you have ever read an edition of DRF (my original model for the Lines), you are no worse off.

| #4 Posted on 26.2.04 2331.20 Reposted on: 26.2.11 2331.25 | I thought Lita being off (and Victoria too - her slingshot legdrop didn't seem right even if Lita hadn't moved) hurt the opener, and wouldn't have rated it quite as high. The pre-Rumble Molly/Victoria match was a step above this one (especially if you isolate the Lita/Victoria segment), and that one might have just hit 60.
You may want to fix "4 *Man* Battle Royale"
13 for the main event was more than I was expecting, given what we got.

I recall hearing some good things about that Heat effort you refer to. I have no form for comparision since I don't post figures for Heat. However, I will say that running the calculations, factoring for what the match had, the 51 that came out was reasonable, I thought. As the scaling goes, I stand by that 51 being better than any other 50 or less on any other rated show (but then the construction of the formula was subjective to begin with but everyone already knows that).
13 for the main event was more than I was expecting, given what we got.
The 13 might seem high or low depending. I suppose I could have factored in other effect or lack of a true contest, but to keep the ratings standarized in sort, I try to avoid any changes, maxing out at +/-2 for 1-5 minute matches; +/-4 for 5-10 minutes; and +/-6 for 10 onward.
You may want to fix "4 *Man* Battle Royale"
Actually, I have a drop down list of match types for the Lines and the Pre Lines. I was just too lazy to add another match type to the list.
Thanks for the feedback.

| #6 Posted on 29.2.04 0227.04 Reposted on: 1.3.11 0000.11 | I agree Molly did a great job reacting to the sneak pin. Lita being off? No way. It was a "modified headscissors" as J.R claimed. So modified that she didn't come in contact with Victoria's head during the move or did any sort of scissors action with her legs. That's some modification... I agree Orton/Venis was a good enough affair.
Yes, Benoit/Batistia highlight was indeed the finish. Nice reverse from the powerbomb to the crossface by Benoit... Agree with you again, not much happened in the World Tag match except for liking the jumping sidekick by Booker.
Ah poor Trish first her throwaway match with Kane now a one clothesline match with Christian getting small number. But must say that one clothesline she took was certainly more impactful (literally and figuratively LoL) then alot of matches and segments... I guess 13 is an alright number for the main event. I don't know if I agree with Bischoff's having nicely executed kicks
As for segments, I thought HHH once again went too long and drawn out in his in ring promo. Even though 1.0 is hardly a high number, don't know if it was the best non-wrestling segment on the show... I agree with your Foley interview opinion it was good but not off the charts great as he's done many times. He did a good job somewhat defending the long boring beatdown from last week.
CLT Christian love Test was pretty quick thinking on him haha... I really liked the image of Bischoff and Vince with Stone Cold in the middle smiling then turning pissed when no fighting is happening
As for possible error. Did you forget to rate the last Coachman/Bischoff backstage segment that took place between Trish being carried out and the main event segment? Nothing major happened in that segment but just giving you a heads up if you missed it... Once again real good stuff and an added Happy Birthday to you, Robert | LinearRO

Yes, there should always be a number by a segment or a NR notation, else it is a mistake. It also means I have to post a correction, but since I appreciate accuracy in general, even if somewhat delayed (so long as the mistake was made in good faith), I have no problems posting corrections when brought to my attention.
And thanks for the birthday props.
