| #41 Posted on 27.2.04 0649.01 Reposted on: 27.2.11 0649.06 | I almost never do these kinds of posts because I always feel just saying ditto is a waste of time and space. It's always pretty safe to assume that if Forsty or Calzone Kid think it's cool that I will as well.
But, I gotta tell you, it's astonishingly cool that someone from Australia was doing a search for Elsa Bangz and stunbled onto one of my threads. Cooler still, someone from Germany doing a search for Dan Paysan.
So, two big, big thumbs up for that feature, CRZ. | The Amazing Salami

| #48 Posted on 28.2.04 0247.56 Reposted on: 28.2.11 0248.01 | Originally posted by CRZ Oh, you FOUND that. I'm not really happy with the load time to generate those pages (~10 seconds), so I put off announcing the change. It's lots of fun to run it against DEAN, though.
I'm probably going to overhaul that next week, though, so we can log a few million hits (we're already past 80K in under two weeks!) without me having to worry about overloading the server with a simple threadsbyuser script
And that's done. It now takes 0.2-0.3 seconds to generate a threadsbyuser page where it used to take 8.5-10.0 seconds. HOORAY FOR ME
SO! If you're dying to see if any thread YOU'VE started are getting referrals, click on the profile page, then find "View threads by this user" at the bottom of the page and click on it! (Looks like it's taking about two weeks to get threads in search engines...)
As always, I recommend you start with DEAN... | Torchslasher

I really don't know what I get a bigger kick out of, seeing the absurd keywords that allow seraches to come here... or seeing people link up here looking for Ralph Nader or Noam Chomsky, which is humorous that a wrestling site would actually have a thread with Chomsky's name on it and that someone would click a link and go to a website with this name to get their Ralph Nader information LoL.
One of my favorites is, What+College+did+Trish+Stratu+ go+to... Why is it? For the sure shock of someone using a search engine concerning a WWE woman not to do with hottie photos but actual looking up diva post secondary school information! BTW if someone else ends up in this post by doing that search the answer is York University

Originally posted by anibanging Brilliant. And constantly fascinating. But it keeps giving me an American flag when a search I've tried while not logged in ends up on the list.
Yet it shows up us a Canadian flag on the post. Go figure.
(edited by anibanging on 23.2.04 0009)
Your search engine probably ends in dotcom, and that's where the flags are coming from. Google.ca, for example, would throw a maple leaf into the table. I know now more Finnish and Portugeuse websites from the past week than I ever knew before.
Turns out you were right after all. I realized the searches I'd done that showed US flags were all spawned from the address bar google search in Opera. Which apperantly searchs the .com. Mystery solved. | Whitebacon

I picked an image off your page at random - or I should say a page linked off that page, since there aren't any images on that page. (I WONDERED whose page that was...) ;-)
I think we have over 200 of those little images done, although not all of them have been installed in the scripts yet. Over 99.9% of the referrals should have a site image, though, even with my work incomplete on that front. (Most of the images correspond to one referral out of the 100K+ we've logged, meaning only I will notice it...but it WILL drive me nuts eventually if I don't fix it) | Joe E. Nitro

Consider the inverse of the question: As a knowledgeable, informed, literate & generally sane (by Internet standards) board, don't "we" have the responsibility to counterbalance the piles of total dreck that Google trawls through daily?
