| #21 Posted on 23.2.04 1157.09 Reposted on: 23.2.11 1158.50 | I must say, this is the greatest feature in history of the internet. Man it's interesting to see all the odd things that get people on here. I never thought there was so much traffic coming here via search engines.
What's as interesting as the words is all the different countries, I saw Isreal and India and I think both were looking for Stephanie McMahon thong and slips search respectively LoL... There's something very beautiful about that, a connection between middle eastern countries. It sure brings a tear to this net hacks eye.
Someone from Singapore really wants to know about Randy Orton's tatooes. Some of the searches scare but most of it very intesting... I'm addicted to this feature. | thecubsfan

My sig had a thing about CLITORIS for a breif period of time. This website would build android names based on any string you gave them. There is a great CLITORIS joke in "Red Dwarf" and I wanted to see what it would come up with.
Last night I saw a search for bras+panties from the UK, and a big+cocks from india. Scary.

Well, several search engines actually operate differently with question-based queries (ask.com for instance) so, while it doesn't matter with Google, it's not exactly a stupid convention. | Bizzle Izzle

| #28 Posted on 24.2.04 1318.33 Reposted on: 24.2.11 1319.16 | This is one the coolest features I've ever seen on any website ever. It's absolutely FASCINATING to see what people are searching for. I guess it appeals to something voyeuristic inside me, but I find myself sitting on the page and hitting the F5. And the most fascinating thing of all is wondering just how some of these searches led them here. I mean "kill+your+parents"? And I think I've seen just as many Max Kellerman searches as I have for Torrie and Sable's pics and Britney's nipples.

You're clever. I love your cleverness. I love this new page. And I'm not just saying that.
Seriously, the "how they ended up here" function is currently my favorite Internet toy. Who knew there were so many different ways to search for Sable's and Torrie's "Playboy" photos? And, like cranisn, I anxiously await the full story behind the "The +Amazing +Genius +of +CRZ" search.
Also, congrats to Guru for the spill checker. I mean spell chocker. I mean...well, good job by both BeeZees.

Another person was seeking that Nekkid Women's PPV.
I was pleased to see that one of the folks though had gotten here via our links page.... though I should probably apologize in advance for the quality of posts that will inevitably follow.

Oh, you FOUND that. I'm not really happy with the load time to generate those pages (~10 seconds), so I put off announcing the change. It's lots of fun to run it against DEAN, though.
I'm probably going to overhaul that next week, though, so we can log a few million hits (we're already past 80K in under two weeks!) without me having to worry about overloading the server with a simple threadsbyuser script...

CRZ, some of the searches say "encrypted query"...I think its been on AOL searches--do all AOL's searches do that and why? Perhaps the answer is obvious, but I'm not real savvy when it comes to this sort of thing. Just curious. | CRZ

I think it's got something to do with their pay-per-click (PPC) system. If you want to see the UNencrypted strings, you can click on the "(encoded query)" link and you'll see what was entered. I did some quickie poking around last week to see if there was an easy way to decrypt the string without actually redoing the search but nobody's seemed bored enough to crack the code.
They come out as binhex in groups of sixteen, and they were kinda breaking the tables, so I just put "(encoded query)" in there since there wasn't anything useful displayed as it was anyway.

I don't know if you saw this, but they have a list of some decoded blocks and a bit if perl code that does...something I guess. |
