At this rate, the Penguins may actually be able to win a game against the Caps.

Nah, it's not playoff time yet. That's the only time the Penguins would hand us our asses.

Yeah, he's a big pickup, but another speedy scoring winger isn't what Ottawa needs most.

A non-Lalime goalie and a non-Rob Ray grinding forward are what the Senators realy need in order to get further in the playoffs this year.

It does keep him away from the other teams in the East, though, which is also a big consideration. Maybe now the Sens can trade another of their forwards to address their real issues.

I wish people would get off Lalime's nuts. There's no better available goalie out there. Actually, there's no goalie outside of Martin Brodeur who any team could have full confidence in to take them all the way.

Lalime was spectacular in last year's playoffs and got the Sens to within one game of the Stanley Cup Final. He was rock solid when it mattered. There isn't another goalie in the Eastern Conference who you could say 100% will outplay Lalime in a seven game series.

This makes a strong team only stronger.

Considering the teams record so far this year and all the while missing Fisher, Varada, Volchenkov, this team is poised for greatness.

They dumped the trump card down on the East...

It is going to make for an interesting cup race.

Great deal for the Sens. Bondra is a nice fit and a player I always would have liked to see in Broadway Blue.

....of course, if he were in broadway blue, it would mean that he would never score another goal again

This was a blatant steal. Luckily, I like the Sens. Look at their weapons now: Havlat, Alfredsson, Bondra, Bonk, Hossa, Smolinski & Spezza. There's probably a few I'm missing, but that's TWO FULL LINES of offensive threats. Ye gods.

If this is what they have to deal with, then the Islanders are almost better off if they don't get into the playoffs again!

This is definitely a good get for the Sens.

Heck yeah!

Bondra's been a favorite of mine for years, and now he's a Senator? Even better.

My only complaint? With Bonk and White out of the lineup, another centre wouldn't hurt...but who's to say Muckler isn't done shopping...

Bondra is a fabulous player, have been fan of his for years. Really one of the most consistent point geters for the longest time while playing in one of the most inconsistent teams... Top notch pick up by the Sens.
