A non-Lalime goalie and a non-Rob Ray grinding forward are what the Senators realy need in order to get further in the playoffs this year.
It does keep him away from the other teams in the East, though, which is also a big consideration. Maybe now the Sens can trade another of their forwards to address their real issues. | fuelinjected

Lalime was spectacular in last year's playoffs and got the Sens to within one game of the Stanley Cup Final. He was rock solid when it mattered. There isn't another goalie in the Eastern Conference who you could say 100% will outplay Lalime in a seven game series. | Socks

Considering the teams record so far this year and all the while missing Fisher, Varada, Volchenkov, this team is poised for greatness.
They dumped the trump card down on the East...
It is going to make for an interesting cup race. | dunkndollaz

....of course, if he were in broadway blue, it would mean that he would never score another goal again | Freeway

Look at their weapons now: Havlat, Alfredsson, Bondra, Bonk, Hossa, Smolinski & Spezza. There's probably a few I'm missing, but that's TWO FULL LINES of offensive threats. Ye gods. | Dagent913

If this is what they have to deal with, then the Islanders are almost better off if they don't get into the playoffs again!
This is definitely a good get for the Sens. | Bullitt

Bondra's been a favorite of mine for years, and now he's a Senator? Even better.
My only complaint? With Bonk and White out of the lineup, another centre wouldn't hurt...but who's to say Muckler isn't done shopping...
