Ok, I keep seeing references to Wisconsin. There are at least a few of you in Green Bay, some in Madison, and I think I know of one from Appleton.

How many of you people in Wienerville have a Wisconsin connection? We seem to be highly over-represented...

Just curious. Before I met my friend Robb from Appleton, I didn't know anyone from Wisconsin. Now it seems like the only state that anyone is from around here...

The closest I come is going to grad school with I think three people from the cheese state - one from Green Bay, one from Madison and one from Milwaukee.

My "best" anecdote involves the 1994 NFC playoffs. I, a Lions fan, had to watch the Lions-Pack game with a room full of Packers fan.

Yes, that was the game when Barry got negative yardage rushing.

I shudder to think about it.

My boss is from The Wisconson.

Here's what I'm really curious about: why does everyone from The Wisconson have a messed-up nickname? My boss' two best friends are named, to his knowlege, Butthead and Snotnose. He's also told me stories about people named Sniffer, The Goat and Bushy.

I school, live and work in Madison.

Originally I'm from Minnesota, but I like it here better. Go Badgers Basketball team. Whoo!

And so on and so forth.

I spent way too long (7 years) in Madison. But now that I've left I admit to some Wisconsin Nostalgia. And when people complain about the cold I laugh at them.

Of course, all the folks from Calgary are probably laughing at me right now...

EDIT: What do I miss the most about Wisconsin? The beer of course. I love Leinenkugel's, and you can only get Leinie's red out here.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Truley Gods country.

I now live in the Twin Cities, if only for increased employment opportunities, and the fact that the state is nicknamed 'Minnesober'.

BTW, Guru, its Wisconsin, not Wisconson. I know, you spelled it correctly in the actual post, but how often do I get to correct YOU on spelling.

The thing to know about Wisconsin...The deeper into it you go, the weirder, and therefore cooler, it is.

One day you will ALL know about Wisconsin, but you won't think of cheese...You'll think of Culver's.

You may not know now, but you will...

Wisconsin RULES.

I was born in St. Louis, moved to Green Bay when I was 2, then to Miami, FL when I was 8, then to Satellite Beach (central FL on the east coast) at age 9. Now I am a student in Gainesville, but I actually hope to move back to the region after graduation. It's quite a nice place.

EDIT: If I can get used to that damn cold weather again. Florida sunshine rules.

Culver's has already begun it's spread outward from Cheese Country, as I have it as a regular stop on my way to my favorite gambling boat here in IL. Never knew it was a Wisconsin import though. Oh well, means at least one good thing came from that God-forsaken place. *is required to be smug about WI being from IL*

I believe you want a Bacon ButterBurger™ Deluxe. I'll take mine with a double scoop of Hershey Almond Kiss frozen custard, please.

Hey, even I have days when I don't follow my diet that strictly...

Steph (look around McDermott Books)

P.S. Culver's ButterBurger™ is so named because the top of the bun is lightly brushed with butter and then grilled to a golden brown toast. (I worked there once.)
