Ok, I keep seeing references to Wisconsin. There are at least a few of you in Green Bay, some in Madison, and I think I know of one from Appleton.

How many of you people in Wienerville have a Wisconsin connection? We seem to be highly over-represented...

Just curious. Before I met my friend Robb from Appleton, I didn't know anyone from Wisconsin. Now it seems like the only state that anyone is from around here...

The closest I come is going to grad school with I think three people from the cheese state - one from Green Bay, one from Madison and one from Milwaukee.

My "best" anecdote involves the 1994 NFC playoffs. I, a Lions fan, had to watch the Lions-Pack game with a room full of Packers fan.

Yes, that was the game when Barry got negative yardage rushing.

I shudder to think about it.

My boss is from The Wisconson.

Here's what I'm really curious about: why does everyone from The Wisconson have a messed-up nickname? My boss' two best friends are named, to his knowlege, Butthead and Snotnose. He's also told me stories about people named Sniffer, The Goat and Bushy.

I spent way too long (7 years) in Madison. But now that I've left I admit to some Wisconsin Nostalgia. And when people complain about the cold I laugh at them.

Of course, all the folks from Calgary are probably laughing at me right now...

EDIT: What do I miss the most about Wisconsin? The beer of course. I love Leinenkugel's, and you can only get Leinie's red out here.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Truley Gods country.

I now live in the Twin Cities, if only for increased employment opportunities, and the fact that the state is nicknamed 'Minnesober'.

BTW, Guru, its Wisconsin, not Wisconson. I know, you spelled it correctly in the actual post, but how often do I get to correct YOU on spelling.

I was born in St. Louis, moved to Green Bay when I was 2, then to Miami, FL when I was 8, then to Satellite Beach (central FL on the east coast) at age 9. Now I am a student in Gainesville, but I actually hope to move back to the region after graduation. It's quite a nice place.

EDIT: If I can get used to that damn cold weather again. Florida sunshine rules.

Culver's has already begun it's spread outward from Cheese Country, as I have it as a regular stop on my way to my favorite gambling boat here in IL. Never knew it was a Wisconsin import though. Oh well, means at least one good thing came from that God-forsaken place. *is required to be smug about WI being from IL*

I got absolutely polluted one weekend back in 1986 in Madison - got some friends that lived in Fon du Lac for a few years after they got married but they moved to Minneapolis - had a frat brother in college in vermont from Racine - and my boss in NYC is on the waiting list for Packers season tix
