Great episode of OVW tonight (2/14). It featured:

*Snippet of the Damaja match from a couple of weeks ago.

*An interview with TE3's Matt and John that ended with John giving Matt a sitting piledriver in the middle of the ring (Yup, John was flat on his butt when Matt's noggin "hit the mat"). Leading to . . .

*Stevie Richards, coming out in his "Stevie Night HEAT" trunks to demand a match with TE3's John.

*Funaki actually making a guest-appearance briefly in the ring during the second half of the show.

*And the return of Sean O'Haire and what may be a run for the belt against Dinsmore.

Like I said, great show. Thought I would mention it here not only for the piledriver, but for the many WWE appearances on the show tonight.

How cool is this...an OVW report. Hey I think you have the market cornered on this one one Snookum. Sean in OVW, DO'H won't be on WWE TV any time soon now.

Thanks jwrestle. I think the boards and sites may need to start doing OVW reports, since it is quickly becoming WWE Jr. with all the WWE wrestlers popping up in each episode now!

And having a chance to have good matches. I mean, look at Kanyon - he didn't get anything to do in WWE when he came back late last year, but he had an excellent series of matches in OVW while here in Louisville in the spring and summer of 2003.

I'm hoping they'll allow O'Haire to do the same.

He's training, but he's also appearing on the program as well. That's typical for any of the WWE guys (and gals, come to think of it) that come down.

If they're here to train others, they'll usually work dark matches for the audience (Ivory had a dark match "main event" after a television taping just a few weeks ago, besides also doing some on-camera interview stuff on the show; while Molly made several dark match appearances when she was doing a bit of training down here last year). They sometimes will lend a hand in setting up storylines on-camera as well.

If they're here to recover from an injury, they usually do not do much beyond maybe a one-time on-camera match or appearance, mainly just a way to get back in front of a camera and audience again. Benoit's appearance as a ref during an Iron-man match two years ago between Dinsmore and Machine comes to mind. Angle's appearance as an enforcer in a match that featured his brother is another one.

Then there's the occasional guest-starring appearances. Cena, Victoria, and Rico all came back for the first anniversary show last September (and did a signing afterwards). Then you have the biweekly Six Flags shows OVW does during the summer, which always has a guest-appearance by at least one WWE person. That's a chance to see people like Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, and others in matches that you know you wouldn't be seeing in WWE.

Okay, a bit longwinded, but really if you want to see these people upclose (heck, I got to sit only six feet away from the ring in the front row for a Benoit match a year and a half ago and admission was free), OVW is really a great place to see them.

And, no, I don't work for them. I'm just a fan. :)
