Check that out. It's a Royal Rumble Fantasy Game. You pick 5 numbers (not wrestlers) and you compile points for how they perform. May not be the most complex game in the world, but hey it makes the first 45 minutes of the Rumble more interesting.

And I think you're fat. So how do you like me now?

I remember doing this w/ some friends for the 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 Rumbles. I got #21, #27, #1 and #2 in '94. Bret drew #27 and was Co-winner. Sweet victory. Though I think we tried to predict what wrestler drew what as well.

Point me to the person who willingly picks #30, so I can kick their ass.

My strategy:

Go for either #1 or #2, cause there won't be many people in the ring at the beginning, so their odds of getting elimination points go up.

Then, pick someone in the 10-14 range, the person that gets the "Diesel push" this year.

Then uh....I'll contact you later if I can think of anything good for the remaining 3 numbers.

I did some checking at, just for kicks. Statisically, your best picks are numbers 24 and 27, since more wrestlers have gone onto win the Rumble after having drawn those numbers (I think #27 won the most, in '89, '93, '94 and '00, but don't quote me on that since I'm working from memory).

#30 has never one, and #1,2 and 3 have each won.

EDIT -- Check this

Table of Rumble Winners!

Year Draw Wrestler
89 #27 Big John Studd
90 #25 Hulk Hogan
91 #24 Hulk Hogan
92 #03 Ric Flair
93 #27 Yokozuna
94* #23 Lex Luger
94* #27 Bret Hart
95 #01 Shawn Michaels
96 #18 Shawn Michaels
97 #05 Steve Austin
98 #24 Steve Austin
99 #02 Vince McMahon
00 #24 The Rock
01 #27 Steve Austin

Go ahead and use those statistics when making your picks. If you pick 24 or 27, based on these stats you have a 50% chance of picking a winner.

Interesting that no one between 5 - 18 has ever won the Rumble. I wonder if it's because the bookers figure if he didn't come in right away, or later on that the fans don't buy him as a serious shot to win?

Or it may have more to do with the fact that the big stars draw either early or late to leave the fans sitting on the edge of their seats thinking "oh he drew early, HOW is he gonna win?" or "WHERE is he???"

If the WWF holds a match for any killer position (like they do every year for spot #30) then I'd want it to be for #27! Looks like one helluva sweet deal...
