Mike Myers was ok, alot of stuff went right over my head and i'm from toronto.
the stand up comedian was just plain AWFUL. I bet 1 killion dollars that guy is NEVER on NBC again. I didnt understand one word he said let alone one joke.
Im a huge Conan fan, and am impressed by the city of Toronto paying him 1 million dollars to do the show there.
Just wasn't happy with the first show.

I thought it was great that he had such a hot (and bigger) crowd, and the humor was pretty standard for a Conan show. I think Mike Myers and Ron James were both really funny. As much as I hate the Leafs, I thought the segment they did with Conan was great too. Oh well, to each their own. | JST

Even Conan agreed with my take on Americans not understanding any of the previous nights references when he did a CLASSIC bit replaying a snippet of the Mike Myers interview with "american over-dubs". Hilarious!
It was nice to see Micheal J Fox on the show, he hasn't acknowledged his Canadian heritage nearly enough in the past. He looked good, but you can see the effects of his illness, unfourtunatly.
The rest of the show was good. Although I could have done without (ugh) Nickelback...

He's one of those guys that believes all the hype that says he's the "best comedian in Canada." He's had a couple of different shows written for him and yet none of them have been worth watching.
Compare with Rick Mercer, who I truly hope Conan has on at some point this week: Mercer is truly our brightest young light on the comedy scene; he's personable, intelligent, and doesn't expect one to kiss his ass upon introduction.

He needs to stick to performing for HIS audience at northern ontario charity casinos where people might actually be drunk or dumb enough to laugh.
To have him as a comedy ambassador from canada is a shame and a shmoz if you ask me.

When he was on (I watched the replay on Comedy Central this afternoon), all I kept thinking is "Geez, this guy is crap. The audience seems to be into it though, maybe I'm just not getting all of the Canadian inside-jokes. Kinda weird that he would do all of these Canadian inside-jokes on an American show, though."
Now I dont feel so bad for not getting any of them. | tsmstu

The audience was laughing either a) because a laughter sign was lighting up or b)it was a nervous laugh, like when you laugh at a funeral.

I didn't see the segment, but what little that they mention in the article sounded like typical Triumph to me. Was it any worse than usual? |
