For my money, the worst movie ever made has to be "The Next Best Thing" starring Madonna and Rupert Everett. Trying to explain WHY its so bad only gives it credence as an actual product that exists. I'd like to think that it only existed in a nightmare.

To date there has only been one movie which was so bad I turned off the TV and left the room, and that was "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."

I was really bummed that they didn't include the full movie on the MST3K DVD like they did with some previous releases. I would love to see that one straight, and there isn't a chance of it getting released in any other fashion.

Anyway, my contribution to worst movie of all time...

Star Trek V - The Final Frontier

I will NEVER own that on DVD. I have most of the others (missing 3 and 4 just because I haven't gotten around to getting them), but NEVER that one.

The answer ... Simon Fucking West screwed it up like no other screw up in the history of Hollywood. This no talent director (who was also responsible for the awful Tomb Raider) has no clue how to structure an action movie. It's pretty simple -- rising action leading to a big climax. It's worked for thousands of stories in the past, but it's not good enough for Simon West. He just threw action sequence after action sequence after action sequence onto the screen, without building to anything. I remember one critic called it "action movie pornography ... climax after climax after climax after climax." After an hour and a half of this crap even explosions and shootings and knifings are boring.

Why is Con Air worse than Skateboard Kid? It doesn't sound like Skateboard Kid had a chance of being any good. But this could have been an awesome, terrific movie with a competent director.

    Whew, I feel better now.

I just watched Con Air on tv tonight. It was the second time I had seen it, I saw it when it first came out, and then again tonight. I loved it then, and i loved it tonight. What's wrong with action movies having action sequence after action sequence after action sequence? Why does it have to be a slow burn building to a big finish? When I'm watching an action movie I want to see lots of action, just like when I watch a wrestling match I don't want to see 15 minutes in a rest hold. But I like pornography so what do I know?

The worst movie ever made, and that ever will be made, is Battlefield Earth. Everyone involved with that travesty should be fired, shot, burned alive, reconstituted into their original forms, and fired, shot and burned alive again. John Travolta as an inter-stellar middle manager with funny hair. Now there's an idea needing a 9 figure budget. That movie sapped my very will to carry on, and at points I considered converting to Scientology if that would make them end the suffering.

I love "The Burbs" that is just an amusing movie, and I can't (yes I can, but oh well) believe you didn't like it.

Starship Troopers is so bad, it's funny. You just have to ignore the fact that they completely mangled the book and enjoy it for the stupidity. How can you not laugh at scenes like this:

Guy walks up to corpse with giant hole in (brainless) head, sticks his finger in, swirls it around, looks at the absence of brain matter on his finger.... looks at other guy... looks at finger.... "You know what this means?" Other guy: ".....What?" "They SUCKED his BRAINS out!"

Rocky Horror Picture Show.... you definately have to be in the right mood to enjoy this one.. but once you get there (especially if you see it in a theater) it's a wonderful thing.

And my worst movie of all time? There's been so many, but the most recent one has to be Joy Ride, because I was drug to it by a friend whom I thought had good taste in bad horror movies and ended up paying 7 freakin' dollars to see this horrible piece of trash. ARGH.

Maybe Starship Troopers is just more funny to me because I have a friend who has spent the last 6 years wanting to go to film school and make it big as a director... and he's also spent the last 6 years convinced that Starship Troopers was one of the greatest movies ever made. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I like Con Air too, in fact I thought John Malkovich's portrayal of Cyrus the Virus was some of the best villian work i've seen.

The three worst movies i've seen would have to be.

3. With Honors
2. Little Women - ok maybe some women liked this movie, but i'm not a woman

as for number, i get a lot of heat for this from my friends because EVERYBODY seems to love it but personally i think it's biggest piece of crap ever and that is...

You youngsters really need to get out more. Rocky Horror is a classic that must be viewed in a theater with rain, meatloaf, rice, etc. We went once with a fire extinguisher for the rain scene. Man, were those people pissed at us.

Thirteen Ghosts. What a pile of garbage. I have nothing against Tony Shalhoub in general, but this was not one of his finer performances. Shannon Elizabeth CANNOT act (cf. that scene where she discovers running water, for those who have seen it). The nanny was cast as nothing more than a stereotypical "sassy black lady," and poorly at that. The brightest spot in that movie was Matthew freakin' Lillard, and I think that says something.

Which is why I hate that movie. It's boring as hell, and seeing it in a theater attracts the dregs of humanity. Why should the movie theater have to deal with losers throwing shit all over? My dad used to run the theater that showed it in St. Louis, and has millions of horror stories. The worst is the couple that would go every week, and one week they weren't there. He overheard that they had a baby. Next week, they were there. Very sad. It was going to be shown in St. Louis again about 4 years ago, but on the first night, the "cast" bitched about a lack of a dressing room. The managers decided not to put up with theit whining and never showed it again.

I was born and raised in St. Louis. I've transplanted to Springfield. I have many good memories of the TIVOLI.

None of you must have seen "The Skateboard Kid." I mean Dom Delouise as a talking skateboard! Come on people!

I saw Lake Placid on USA the other day and that was trash. Betty White raising Crocodiles in Maine? Bill Pullman and Oliver Platt as heroes? Right. Anazcinda sucked @ss too, but at least Jennifer Lopez got wet in that one.

Fortunately, I've probably haven't seen the worst movie of all time (I've heard the horror stories about Glitter and Battlefield Earth, and I don't even want to imagine how bad Freddy Got Fingered was!).

Out of the movies I've have had the 'ahem' pleasure of seeing, I would say that 'Fair Game' with Cindy Crawford and one of the Baldwins would have to rank at the top of the worse. The plot is just plain dumb. And the split second of Crawford nudity doesn't come close for making up for it. I saw it at a dollar theater (it wasn't what I went to go see, but the other movie was sold out), and I still felt ripped off!
