Now it is time for the people of the Wienerboard to decide which game will be better- Will it be Doom 3 or Half Life 2?

I personally can't decide, both seem so good... but i favor Doom 3, especially with all the delays that Half Life 2 has been having... hope both of these games deliver

It's a tough call. For Single Player, I'd go with Doom 3. The graphics look great and really creepy.
But Half Life is the king of online multiplayer FPS.

I have no faith that id can make a good game. I'm more willing to give the nod to a Half-Life game that I haven't seen over a Doom game I haven't seen.

On that note, this really isn't the time to decide. It's much better to decide after the games are actually released.

I'm going to go with Doom 4... either that, or Half Life 3.

Released and patched ten or fifteen times so that they actually WORK. Never judge a game by pre-release screenshots, demos, or the first few months of release (or, as I like to think of it, the final stages of beta testing.)

I dunno, man. I always preferred Return To Castle Wolfenstein for both multiplayer and single games. I'd probably pick up the sequel to that game, if/when it's released.

I'm going to go with the only good First Person Shooter ever made, Super Noah's Ark 3D.

To me Half-Life and subsequently, Counter-Strike, had one major thing going for them--it just felt right. It's almost a smoothness to the engine and the way the game mechanics work. Whenever I play Quake(s) it feels like I'm randomly shooting my weapon hoping to get a hit. With HL you take aim and fire and boom (hopefully) he's dead.

Ok so I didn't exactly compare it with Doom but you get my point. Half Life has always had that something special that makes it better to play.
