Or the shortest anyways.

Dan Marino's decided he doesn't fancy a return to football so much after all.

So do you go back to the guys you already interviewed when everyone knows they're 2nd choice or do you start all over again?

Obviously a result of seeing the Pats winning the SuperBowl, then coming to the realization the team he built would have to play them twice a year :)

I was surprised he even took the job in the first place. He's rolling in money so who needs the pressure of running a pro football team in a major market? Everyone in Miami loves him and we all know how fickle sports fans can be. Who needs that headache?

Does he have to give Deion his present back now? :)

Truly a historic era, one sure to go down in history with such greats as Mike Cubbage's term as Boston Red Sox manager.

Seriously, Marino was a dope to take the job in the first place; he's got a nice, cushy job at CBS and he's actually fairly decent at it.

The Dolphins played the Pats pretty close during the season. An OT loss (which the Dolphins could have easily won had Mare not been kicking FG's off the dirt), and a game in NE in which they held the Pats offense to 3 points.

I don't think it's a big deal. They already filled the GM spot, which was the big priority.

Oh, I'll grant you that.

I'll just be curious to see what spin they put on it if nobody does replace him given how vehement they were on the 'this is not a figurehead position' party-line when he took the job.
