I think this is the worst thing HhH has done thus far. Benoit, a guy fighting against Heyman weekly on SD for a title shot wins the Rumble against all odds and has the chance to stick it to Heyman and he....switches over to the other show. Why? Because he wants a shot at the true champion.

See, he was just on Smackdown trying to win that title because he HAD to. As soon as an opprotunity arised to face the "true" champ Triple H he hightailed it out of there. This is the reason WWE has given us for Benoits jump to RAW.
They could of had him just say he was sick of Heymans crap but no. They had to make it out to seem that Triple H's title is superior to Lesnar's.

If I remeber correctly Lesnar is the true champion. Hhh just has the old WCW title belt that Benoit already threw in the garbage. HhH has a belt that was worn by David Arquette and was later handed to him. Why would Benoit want to win that title?! Why wouldn't Benoit want to avenge his loss to Lesnar and stick it in Heymans face by winning the title. Wouldnt a champion Benoit feuding with Heyman be a good thing for Smackdown?

To me this whole Benoit jump is stupid and pointless. The only reason this is happening is because of HhH politics. And now I have the feeling that HhH is going to drop the title to HBK at Mania. Benoit will be nothing more then a mid-carder on RAW.

Uh.. Triple H is a heel. He's the champion. Why would he say something that would devalue his belt? Isn't it the job of a heel to play yourself up as overly arrogant? That's what Triple H did. It's like how Brock said on last week's Smackdown that Goldberg was a "Brock Lesnar wannabe". It's an obviously untrue statement, as Goldberg has been a pro wrestler for far longer than Brock has, and thus it garners heel heat for the person who said it. This is the same for Triple H.

It's already been said that Benoit left Smackdown to get away from Heyman, they came right out and said that on Smackdown itself. No one buy's Triple H's lines, and that's the whole point of him saying them.

I'm not a huge HHH fan, but why does everyone rip on him? he's married to Stephanie? He pulls strings? So? If you were in the man's position, you'd do the same thing. I think the Benoit jump was smart; Smackdown pales to Raw in storylines, and maybe Benoit will be able to finally become a Pay-Per-View headliner, like he deserves to be.

I feel what you do, though, about Shawn getting the belt. It's really maddening. Aren't the stipulations the winner gets a title shot? It doesn't say anyone else has the right to it at Wrestlemania.

...'course, that's what they'll use to say Shawn CAN join. Oh well. As long as they keep Benoit away from Goldberg, all's well.

I'm the first guy in line to bash Trips, but I think we're grabbing at straws now. WWE has all but erased that titles lineage back to WCW, so you can forget about it being the same title held by Arquette. It may be the same "physical" title but it's not the same....uh...."spiritual" title....for lack of a better term.

This "Triple H was handed the belt" thing gets throw around so much around here. If I remember right, in the storylines Triple H had defeated the Undertaker the night before to get a Undisputed Title shot before it became disputed. Lesnar went to Smackdown exclusively, so Bischoff used that match result to crown his Champion. Its been done in promotions before why the 2 year hissy fit over it here? Because he's marrried to the boss' daughter.

I didnt rip on HhH when he was actually talented. Am I the only one who notices that Hhh is FAT now. He's pretty out of shape and really slow. He hasn't been good since he came back from the injury but still is the GOD of wrestling. He doesnt even draw as champ! When he headlined a PPV with Goldberg and Kane it was one of the LOWEST buyrates ever. Why does he still have the title?

If you subtract him from the Mania triple threat main event, you would have one HELL of a match. Benoit vs. HBK is a god damn dream match. Throw in HhH and you have a overcrowded ring. Im not a fan of triple threats since there is a odd man out.

And what if someone doesnt watch Smackdown? I didnt see SD this week so I didnt know about the Heyman explanation. Say someone only watches RAW they will figure SD sucks because a wrestler form that show won the Rumble and doesnt want a shot at their title. My point is Benoit himself never said he left because of Heyman.

If someone doesn't watch Smackdown, why would they care if it sucks? They're not watching it anyway.

They will realize that theyre not missing out on anything and continue not to watch. Instead WWE should hype Smackdown with commercials of the coming show instead of putting it down. The whole point is to bring in more viewers...

I just think they're *finally* starting a RAW/Smackdown feud, with Benoit jumping ship as the insult to Smackdown that gets it all started.

WM20 is now being hyped as "Where it all begins... AGAIN". When I saw that, my first thought was "Oh fuck, McMahon's got some new fucking stupid idea that we're all going to have to put up with for the next 6 months until he realizes it failed 4 months earlier". Maybe it's the WWE Civil War that WM20 will be the beginning of. The amount of bitching at each other between each show has certainly picked up in the last couple weeks, as everything else has heading into WM.

The RAW & SmackDown World Titles both derive from the original NWA World's Championship. The RAW belt was turned into the WCW belt in 1991, then got renamed the World Title in 2001. The SmackDown belt became the WWWF Title in 1962, then the WWF Title in 1979. In 2001 the two titles were unified.

The World Title has been held by guys like Ric Flair, Sting, Goldberg, Triple H, Booker T, Jeff Jarrett & Chris Benoit. The WWE Title has been held by guys like Ric Flair, Triple H, The Rock, Steve Austin, Kane & the Undertaker.

To simply ignore the histories of the two belts and just go "Man, they're making SmackDown look bad!" is stupid. I admit, the Benoit jump could have been handled a LOT better. But does bitching about it rewrite things? Nope. So what's the point?

They generally do hype Smackdown on Raw, even when they logically shouldn't, with the two shows being in storyline purposes 'competing brands'. There was a lot of kissing up to Brock Lesnar by the announcers tonight. But to want Triple H to break character and talk up Smackdown as being important/worthy? That's just silly.

Besides, whenever Triple H actually does give someone credit and put them over verbally, it's always a sign that he's going to beat them. Isn't that how it's been proven to work? Or is it just that Triple H beats everybody?

I posted the controversial list of how WWE has overpushed HHH so much over the past four years but I must say, I don't think what HHH was saying was in any way bad. Quite frankly, it is Smackdown, Tazz especially, that consistently has taken the most shots at Raw.

By the way, they booked the Benoit jump incorrectly. They should have had a No. 1 contender match on Raw after the Rumble where Michaels would have won. Then on Smackdown, Heyman would repeat that regardless of his Rumble win, he is not getting a title shot. Next Raw, Benoit demands a title shot and he doesn't care if it's Smackdown or Raw. Then HBK would feel left out and voila, go where they're going now. I do think that when Benoit goes out there and says he want to be the true champion without much elaboration on how Raw's title is better than Smackdown's, THAT devalues the belt. HHH is a heel and so he can bullshit, but Benoit is a straight face and ultimately is burying the Smackdown roster much more.
