I was surprised to see Tina be the first one eliminated. That was kind of shocking. I was hoping Jenna or Jerri would go first since I hate both of them, but I think their time will come.

Richard is still the most entertaining one on the show. I hate Rob and hope he goes soon.

This was a good start to the season. It looks like it's going to be a fun one.

I enjoyed the episode, but I felt there was too much going on. They didn't seem to be prepared to follow all the players and their actions, and just settled for jumping all over the place.

It was kind of neat to see all these people back. I actually kind of liked the oddly predictable alliances (Rupert/Rudy, Robfather/Amber, Jerri/Jenna). It's weird to see how full of himself Richard still is, despite the fact that he knows everybody is gunning to take him out AND the fact that it's pretty obvious that everybody hates him.

I agree with the strategy of the players, in theory, that they should be aiming to take the winners out first, because they already have their piece of the pie. But of all people, Jenna shouldn't be complaining about it, because after Survivor, she was one of the few people that found herself with an actual regular paycheck based on her fame on VH1 (even if it was eventually taken away by Rachel Perry). In fact everybody but Rupert who voted has seen some sort of windfall from "Survivor Celebrity" oddly enough, Tina and Ethan haven't really seen that much action after Survivor.

Random thoughts"

-Big Tom wasn't always that fat, was he?

-I am in full support of Amber's new bathing suit. I hope, however, that Jenna didn't just bring along her old bathing suit like it looks like.

-Rupert dedicating Survivor to his wife and kids just like he dedicated the last one to the kids he worked with is STILL sappy. I like him and everything, but geez.

-I love Colby's frustration at NOBODY getting anything going. Some All Stars these are.

-All in all, it's not surprising which personalities have come to the forefront and which have fallen back. Nobody cares about ShiiAnn, still, Lex is entirely forgetable, everybody just kind of ignores Sue.

Should be a really fun season. I'm looking forward to seeing how all these different styles of play interact.

I'm glad I stayed up until midnight watching this last night - it lived up to the hype and I am hooked......granted they did bounce around a lot from person to person and tribe to tribe but with the extra 2 players and the fact that these are all players that we already know, it's hard to keep people too much in the background like you can in a normal episode.......I really wanted to see jenna voted out last night - i think the whole "vote them out because they already won" whine is lame and ranks right up there with "vote them out because they already rich" - for Jenna, it's a personal agenda and it really will be in these first few eliminations where we will probably see these types of eliminations carried out before the real game playing begins........Sue is still annoying, The Robfather is still an entertaining idiot, Shii Ann is definitely replaceable, probst is already pimping Richard in front of the other players, the looks on the faces of the players as each tribe came in for the challenge will be analayzed to death on some of the recap sites and why don't they just use Kathy's glasses to try and start a fire ?

Bring on Episode 2

Oh this is gonna be the best Survivor ever. I figured Tina would be the first one gone. She flew under the radar when she won and nobody is going to let that happen again. It is going to be interesting to see if Jeff merges them into 2 tribes or 1.

The whole satchel of water and a machete bit is great. These people are the All-Stars, let them forage for themselves. The whole game is about breaking these people down and they have all been through this before you have to make it even harder the second time around. These people are all familiar with each other and know their strengths and weaknesses unlike the first time through.

Richard is once again ahead of the game. He knows he is a target so he is being as outlandish, annoying, and surprising as he possibly can. Great strategy. People will forget that he won once and just ignore him because he is making them uncomfortable. Do you think any of the women in his tribe are going to walk up to him when he is completely naked? He was already spying on the females conversations and reporting them back to the guys. In the first day he was lazy, sneaky, a nark, nude, and obnoxious. A strategy of brilliance.

Yep...big-time enjoyable for sure. We weren't even 15 minutes in and Hatch was naked...funny stuff.

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
Word is the four past winners are the first four to go. Also, expect the Rob M/Amber alliance to stick it out all the way to the final 2.

I've never watched Survivor, and never had any interest in it, but I still checked it out last night. It was pretty entertaining, and not being able to get fire OR water must be pretty tough. I haven't decided if I'll keep watching though....

I dont understand the entire Jenna hate! JENNA RULES! Anyhow, I am gla Tina is gone, as everybody saw through the "aw shucks, whats a mom to do" BULLSHIT that had Colby basically hand her the million. She played that sweet innocent shit to the hilt, and I was wanting to punch her when she was on originally.

And, douchebag saying it isnt right to go after the winners, just because they are winners is a desperate attempt to save his own ass, but his analogy that sports teams win year after year was pathetic, especially since teams that win that much are TARGETED by other teams.

Anyhow, just keep my Jenna and Amber on until the final four, and I could care less who makes it!

I think I'm going to like this show. Apparently I'm one of the few that actually watch for the strategy of it (and mainly why I give up it, so few players seem to play with much strategy), so I admired how Tina skillfully played the Outback season. She did what she had to do to win, and played Colby like a fiddle.

Also, as such, I'm not that big of fan of Jenna and Amber, as they played as sheep in their seasons. I'm hoping there's a good bit of strategic play in this game (something a little more strategic than "hey, let's take out the winners' jealousy stuff). Personally, I think the tribe would have been better to vote off either Jenna or Rudy (and I really like Rudy, but he really doesn't bring anything to the table for these challenges in the early going). I would want to try to target the champs either right before the merge or right after (of course, predicting when the merge might occur, and how it might work is pure guesswork).

BTW, what is 'douchebag' suppose to say? He's trying to save his own ass. That's how the game works.

It'll be interesting to see how long Jerri can keep up her "nice" gimmick.

I think Rob C. lucked out the most with his tribe. Alicia, Rob M., and Susan are all easily gone before him. He's just gotta lay low in that tribe and let those people bicker.

Here's hoping that Rob C. can fly thru to the finals since I drew him and Jerri in my Survivor Pool and we *know* she can't maintain that calm veneer forever. She was already getting on my nerves at tribal council for complaining about the fire/water situation.

I *HATE* drawing people I don't like in the pool and having to root for them. I'd have just wiped my @$$ with the money had I drawn the Robfather too. Not that he can't win (and I hope he can't), but that would have been too much like when my beloved Hawks drafted the Boz. I just couldn't bring myself to root for him (much).

I agree with the Tina ouster in that she's not much help in the physical challenges.

Hatch is eeeeeevil and must be gotten rid of. Send his and Sue's pasty bods back to the mainland.

Yes, you are right, but to be honest, was he trying to convince himself he wouldnt get voted out, or trying to convince those other players that they shouldnt try to vote him out?

The strategy I would employ would be to just vote with whomever is leading the way, and when it comes to it, show him/her that I was along with them the entire time.

The only hope the remaining winners have is to try to avoid getting voted out by pointing out the weekness the other people are having, and then grouping with the other winners once a merge happens, and set up an alliance. Otherwise, they will be picked off, one by one, and the other people will have a nice time fighting it out.

It was a pretty good first episode. The best strategy was by Jerri who masterminded the whole plot to get rid of Tina and then gets Jenna to take all the flack for it.

The populist "soak-the-rich" strategy works well for Democrats. I'd rather decide who gets eliminated based on their performance instead of their bank account, but so much for a merit based system. They won't repeat that strategy next time, because Ethan is a strong athlete and Jenna is a crying ___. No way Rudypert go along with that.

I think Rob from Boston lucked out by being on the misfits tribe with all the losers he gets to be the leader and to hook up with Amber...how cool is that?

(edit:stuff about Ethan-former Survivor winner.)

Rudy's elimination tonight was pretty predictable. Too bad, since Rudy is one of the greats on the show....he sounds like the kind of guy who you could listen to his stories all night.

Somehow, I dont think hearing stories about drinking water from a stream with dead bodies in it seems like a good time.

Plus, JENNA SURVIVES ANOTHER WEEK!

You knew Saboga was cooked the minute they started to try and bail out the boat......does Ethan now try to align with jenna & jerri against Rupert in order to try and get one step closer to the merge..... Chapera has looked strong in the two immunity challenges and they won this last one without Alicia......it looks like Colby could be targeted in Mogo Mogo but you would think it would be time for Nekkid man to start fishing a little to buy himself another few days.....Kathy whined about needing fire again so she probably needs piss on someone's hand again in order to make people forget about it......Rob C is still way under the radar and looking good to go deep into the game
whatever

Gotta love how Rudy threatened bodily harm to those who voted against him.

Also looks like the spoiler above was half wrong already (Ethan survives another week).

I am amazed at how strong the red tribe is in these challenges. It was hilarious how the yellow tribe was so far ahead in the immunity and just didn't think at the end. The thing I am wondering is how far the tribes will dwindle until they do some re-arrangement. Yellow is already down to 4 people, they won't have a very easy time holding tribal competitions if they lose another member. Plus there is an even number now that would be conducive to re-distribution into two teams of 8. Just a thought.

The funniest thing was the look on the other winners faces when they found out that Tina was the first voted out. Like they all of the sudden realised they were the biggest targeted people on the island.

Ethan has a long, hard road ahead of him and it will take a LOT of convincing to turn Jenna against Rupert.

Not looking good for him.

Yep, my spoiler above does have a hole in it...but it gets back on track next week.

Apparently E3 will be the most "heart-wrenching" Survivor of them all.
