I don't care how much of an as the guy can appear at times, I'd still welcome him with open arms.

We've got a barrel load of cap room, a QB that Owens clearly wants to play for and a GLARING need for a big play WR that we haven't had since Reid took over, all of which probably means we don't have a cat in hells chance of seeing him in Philly next year.

I think the whole things 'a cat in hell with no claws chance', but that doesn't scan quite so well.

And it could be teeth instead of claws its missing. Or maybe both. The poor furball's pretty much screwed anyways ;)

Owens Kan't Speel!!! (pressdemo.com) Some T.O quotes!!!!!

In response to a fan's question about his impending free agency, Owens wrote in an entry dated Monday:

"I'm willing 2 workout a contract if the Niners cn get a QB 2 match my skills as a receiver! I wanna win a Superbowl & I cn b a big part of that, a receiver is only as good as his QB!"

To a fan's plea to not leave the 49ers, Owens responded:

"Hopefully, I dn't go anywhere but it dn't look good plus we need a QB 2 make a run @ the Superbowl."

When a fan questioned Owens' online jab at Garcia, the receiver responded in blistering fashion. Owens went so far as to cite Garcia's recent arrest for suspicion of drunken driving.

"I'm nt blaming the whole season on him," Owens wrote, "But bein a QB holds big responsibilties!!!! Havin said that, how about his DUI situation? Everybody wants 2 criticize me 4 this & that, but hv I represented the 49ers n tht fashion, nope -- I dn't think so! I'm nt the problem, I'm the answer! If I cn't get a QB 2 help us win the Superbowl ---- I wn't b back!"

A fan asked Owens what frustrated him the most about Garcia's play: His inaccurate passes; checking down to the secondary receiver too quickly; or his tendency to escape the pocket and run too soon?

Owens' answer: "All of the above!"

Owens questioned why Rattay was replaced at quarterback after the 49ers compiled a 2-1 record while Garcia missed three games with an ankle sprain.

"This past season we had a chance 2 still make the playoffs & they left Jeff n there!" Owens wrote.

Owens offered glowing praise of third-string quarterback Ken Dorsey, the 49ers' seventh-round draft pick from Miami.

"Ken Dorsey is the next Joe Montana waitin 2 happen! U heard it here 1st."

Last week, 49ers consultant Bill Walsh said on KNBR radio that Owens drops too many passes to fetch a $20 million signing bonus. Owens says that was part of a ploy to lower his market value.

Owens' wrote: "Everybody will read thru that, they're jus tryin 2 keep me 4 cheap."

Yikes

What is with the exclamation points!!!! "4 Cheap ?". It's like reading a Team Xtreme fan board or a copy of Hot Newz!

Its not that Owens can't spell. (At least, I don't think that's what it is...) Rather, Owens is just too lazy to type in proper English. His writing skills are only justified if he's posting from a PDA (and typing with a stylus) or if he's messaging a site from his cell phone, but if that's the case, given his salary, someone should tell him to buy a real computer. Or a secretary.

I don't know, maybe he was in a chat room type situation. In the effort to be real-time, almost everyone uses short-hand abbreviations in a chat room (at least in my very, very limited experience, one of the reasons I don't care much for chat rooms).

From my understanding it looks like it came from some sort of Terrell Owens message board from his site. I don't know if the set up is like this sort of message board or like the Lance Storm comment board he had. But I don't think it was a real-time chat situation... But then again I might be out of touch and never got into the kool kidz text writing

Terrell Owens' typing is almost as lazy as his play. Nothing's worse than these alleged superstars who have all this talent and yet only use it when they feel like it. Owens and Moss couldn't carry Jerry Rice's jockstrap.

If you're a Philly fan, even as bad as Pinkston and company are, you've got to be hoping this cancer doesn't come to town. Draft some young receiver or make a trade for a more reliable Keenan McCardell-esque kind of possession receiver who won't drop it.

I wonder how Eagles fans feel about this in hindsight. His one year was a good one, and he put in a great effort in the loss in the Super Bowl, but you can hardly say he was responsible for getting them there considering they had been to the conference title game the three previous years and he was inactive for the playoffs until the Super Bowl. I'd call it a wash.

EDIT: Yay! Danish flag! That's what I was really posting for. :)
