I would personally have to say monty python and the holy grail..... but space balls would have to run a close second for me.

(i kinda got the feeling that the discussion on the jay and silent bob thread would go this route)

I just watched The Holy Grail last night off of Kazaa. I love it, but my wife was horrified that I was laughing at the Black Knight getting hacked up. I guess it's hard for her to get British humor since she is Japanese. To me the funniest movie of all time is, Friday. And only the first time I saw it. Horror movies and Comedies are only really good the first time you see it. Unless you wait a few years before you see it again (like I did Holy Grail). Honorable mention goes to Dumb and Dumber and Something About Mary.

I guess I might as well throw my two cents in. In no particular order, movies I find incredibly funny:

Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back
Can't Hardly Wait
Something About Mary
American Pie 1 and 2
The Jerk

I know how that is. I wore a Black Knight T-shirt to Korean class and the teacher thought it was a horror movie.

As for my favorite funny movie, that'd have to be "The Pink Panther Returns" (Peter Sellers is god) for slapstick and Neil Simon's "Murder by Death" for intellectual humor.

Honorable mention goes to:
American Pie
Beavis and Butthead Do America (seriously)
Monty Python's The Life of Brian
Rush Hour 1 & 2
Nothing to Lose
Anything by Kevin Smith

God Damn it, people have already named my two funniest movies, The Jerk and Friday. I guess I'll have to say Goonies to round out the top three.

BDC is of course correct. The Peter Gibbons speech to the Jennifer Aniston character about not working anymore is the most perfect moment in movie history. A few others though:

Dr. Strangelove
Life of Brian
Airplane
Big Lebowski

Almost all of the Mel Brooks movies are hilarious. Spaceballs, History of the World PArt 1, Blazing Saddles, and Robin Hood Men in Tights. All of those movies rule. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is funny too.

"What's Up Doc" (1972), directed by Peter Bogdonavich and starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O Neil.

It's the only thing Streisand has ever done that I could stomach, and it's still to me the funniest movie in the history of the world.
