I can't *believe* I signed up for that! I'm probably going to be put on their mailing list from hell. Every time some junk mail comes addressed to 'Alexolas Greenleaf' I'll know it was MY fault. *sigh* They'll probably end up billing me for the stupid magazine if I ever do get it. I'm so gullible. Someone give me a link to netbus.exe, a program that will allegedly give me moderator powers over the entire internet after I go to a geocities webpage and enter my social security number and e-mail passwords.

I can't vouch for EGM, but most magazines that are giving out subscriptions aren't doing it to build mailing lists, they're just jacking up their subscriber base so they can gouge the advertisers.
I signed up for the free EGM subscription over a month ago and thus far haven't gotten any junkmail as a result. Of course, I haven't actually gotten an issue of EGM yet (though I suppose that falls under junkmail) but I don't think it's been the allotted 6 to 8 weeks yet.
