I find his articles so stupid its humorous. He does not even review the match/or moves used, he just rips the WWF no matter what.

anybody like Scott Kieth?

Who's Scott kIEth?

(I think there's about five billion pre-existing Scott kEIth threads in this very forum you could read if you were wondering what people thought about him.)

I love them but then I'm probably a kissass or something. Best reviewer/recapper on the net, bar none. BTW, to say that all he does is rip the WWF "no matter what" shows you've did no actual research into Scotts writings, and probably just want to create a flaming thread against the opiate of masses, alpha and omega of our lives; but hey if you want to do that go for it. Plenty of other people here that will back up your opinion.

I think Kieth is pretty good. In fact he's probably the only recapper I consistantly read every week (thanks to that Smark mailing list I can get sent to work) that's not on the Torch. I think he can be a bit harsh on the WWF, but it's like the *in* thing to do now is to bash the WWF *no matter what*.

he's actually a talented writer, not that i'm itching to buy his books. he posted an ongoing story a while back where wrestlers were superheroes in the real world. it was some good stuff but i guess the ideas ran out so he stopped posting it.

he can be funny sometimes. it hasn't happened in a long ass time though. maybe it's that book he's working on.

with his reviews, someone who has watched that much wrestling is welcome to his jaded armchair booker opinions. (and he does seem to like the rock.) really, the only things that bug me about him is it seems he keeps changing what he wants to see out of the fed and he tends to take the narrower view of what's on tv.

i can't think of any example right now of him changing his opinion and hey, opinions change. on the narrower view, he bitched about "bait and switch tactics" when heel steve austin lost the world title at a ppv, then didn't show up at raw the next night despite jr and heyman talking about him all night, wondering when he would show up.

i emailed him about it, saying that's just the way they chose to tell the story. iirc, that was the first time austin flat out pussed out, so yeah the announcers would expect him to be there in the storyline. he just kept reiterating the bait and switch thing. ah well.

that being said, it's funny when someone as anal as him gets his history wrong. killer kowalski didn't bite yukon eric's ear off - he accidently popped it off with a knee drop. if you want to get super technical, he was even called "tarzan" kowalski at the time.

I like his star system. Of course, it is to his standards, and it may vary with what we believe to be a 5 * match, but when you get use to what he looks for, his star system is pretty consistent.

The only time I don't like reading his recaps is when he flames something for seemingly no reason, or he tries too hard to be funny (the poker system).

Best reviewer-Yes.
Best recapper-No.

I think the guys who work this site are the best recapper of the shows. (CRZ #1, followed by thecubsfan and BrewGuy. This sucking up correlates to the manifesto printed by Guru Zim.)

I like both CRZ and SK for two entirely different reasons. CRZ recaps everything and throws a slight comment here and there, that you might miss. While Scott gives his reviews of the matches and may let you look at a different perspective. Is his right? Maybe, maybe not, but it gets you thinking on how one person different than you looks at it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Spelling someone's name right shows to me that you've actually thought about what your saying before you started typing - it makes you look bad when you do silly things, and I don't think other people (Scott included - surely he's lurking around here) are going to take you the least bit serious if you ask silly.

Just sayin'

I think he knows that, since it was in the intro to his first book and all. It kind of takes away from the joke if you have to stop to explain the kayfabe.

And just to be super-technical about it:

a) it wasn't a knee-stomp it was a foot stomp to the throat from the top(?) rope. He ended up taking the ear off because Yukon Eric wussed and flinched.

b) I don't know about him being known as "Tarzan" Kowalski. I can tell you that he picked up the nickname Killer because the week after he took off Yukon Eric's ear at the Montreal Forum, that's what tens of thousands of Montreal fans were calling him. (OK to be super-super-technical they were calling "Keeeler")

ah, it was in his first book. i'll have to move it up the list of books i won't read.

...and yeah, "tarzan" kowalski according the world title history video the wwf put out during hogan's first reign. he challenged for the title in one of the old school matches, possibly against sammartino but don't quote me on that.

It being said that I think he's a good internet writer. Kieth's book "The Buzz on Pro Wrestling" has the unique distinction of being the only book I have ever brought back to Barnes & Noble for a refund. I like to support people I know, but that was pure shit.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe that Kurt/Curt Henning/Hennig has spelled both his first and his last name differently depending on which fed he was in (and sometimes which socks he was putting on)

In much the same way IRS has gone by both Mike Rotonda and Mike Rotondo. The first in the WWF (when he teamed with Barry Windham) and the second in the WCW. (I think.)

Consider yourself corrected. He never went by Curt Hennig in the WWF- he was always Mr. Perfect, though he was acknowledged as Larry 'the Ax' Hennig's son. In WCW he went by his actual name. Now that he's back in the WWF, it appears that he's solely Mr. Perfect once again.

I was actually thinking of his stint in the AWA, before joining the WWF.
