I did read the blog, your comments, and his response.

I've heard people attacking him over his books, his reviews, even his comments on the board. I've come to understand all that is pretty fair game.

That said -- what's the big deal? He said he wasn't interested in the exploits of the U.S. Army as a passing comment in his SmackDown review. You pressed the issue. He then said no more talk about it on his Blog. And your point is....?

No offense, I just think it's a silly thing to attack someone over. If he called the U.S. Army names, or criticized WWE for going there -- that's certainly one thing. But, geez, it's the guy's personal blog.

So Scott Keith said that the exploits of a non Candaian army don't interest him? Read him for his rants and wrestling views on 411, read his blog for his personal views. One single person's view on the war can't really change anything--Scott saying he doesn't support a non-Canadian army is his opinion. Scott didn't do anything really anti-American, just state that he supported Afghanistan but doesn't care for the Iraq war.

I'm pretty sure if Keith said the grass was green, people would be lineing up to disagree with him, just so people can tell their friends "i argued with IWC icon and renowned author Scott Keith." I like Keith's rants and visit his blog, but if I disagree, I don't call him on it (I don't have the time to argue over the internet) and nitpick over every "and" and "or" in his comments.

Actually, as the author of the last Anti-Keith post, I will say this. The actions of our president have put us at odds with quite a bit of the world. LOTS of people don't agree with the war in Iraq. I would dare say worldwide, lots more people disagree with the war than agree. It was the cause of the worlds largest demonstration for peace ever. The idea of being against the general idea of war is something people should examine a bit. The idea of dying for reasons which our leaders fabricate for the entire world. All the arguments about WMDs in the world, don't bring back a single of the 500 americans who have died, it doesn't heal the 12.000 who have been injured, and it doesn't save the estimated 7000 Iraqi citizens that were killed for an ever changing reason, the reason right now being so we could "save them". If you're going to not buy his book, do it because it likely sucks, not because he expressed a reasonable opinion on his blog.

I'll be sure to tell my friends I appeared with an IWC icon. Not for nothing, but I've really got tell everyone and let the little secret out...nobody gives a shit about the IWC outside of the very, very small minority who take the time to actually find sites like these (and the only reason that I even took a couple of minutes to find these sites is because I'm home for a couple of days and have nothing better to do).
If I did argue with Scott Keith that the grass was green, most of you idiots would not be able to comment on the matter because you huddle around your computers all day. Some of you are probably as white as Carrotop; to which I say: Get some sun! Live a little bit! Put down the PS2 controller and the anime; it'll be there when you get back! Get jobs that don't involve retail or french fries! Many of you are so maladjusted to the world, and I'm almost beginning to wonder if Hyatte's crazy story could be a true story.
Now, before people start railing back, I'll throw in the disclaimer that I am not targeting everyone. There are a few wrestling fans who can be classified as "smart marks" and also lead normal lives. There are people with good jobs, good families, and have a healthy dose of reality tucked into them. Most of you do not fit this category, and my deepest sympathies go out to you.
Now, I understand that people might reply to my charming little opinion on this brisk yet sunny (that's right boys, the sun is out) Saturday morning, but you can almost spare the witty insults it took you hours to cook up because I can see exactly what will be said:
A. "The It's not Me" - Hey asshole, I work as a doctor at a major hospital OR I make $XXXX money a year OR I was out getting wasted last night with this hot chick with large tits.
B. "Spelling Typo" - 'Now I understand that peeple' - maybe you should learn to spell before you criticize, asshole.
C. "Nutjob" - Why don't you fucking tell me where you live and we'll meet somewhere and I'll put the crossface on you until you tap, fuckoid?
D. "Pacifist" - You have no right to criticize others. Perhaps you should take a look in the mirror, etc.

Again, I feel bad for many (if not most) of you. Most of you will never feel the touch of an attractive woman. Most of you will never know that there are other joys out there besides getting your quotes mentioned by Hyatte or getting a dozen responses to a thread. Most of you have been so clouded by reality that you'll never know that Chris Benoit should be champion as much as Spanky. Again, there are those out there who have a healthy dose of reality, and can combine their IWC/real world personas. To the other 95% of you...please get help.

Wow! Were you that angry before your first post up there, or only after everyone responded? Pretty rough stuff you were talking about too, with all of the name-calling & profanity & whatnot. I'm not sure any of that was even necessary, but what do I know?

Listen, I'm not gonna "comeback" to any of that stuff, but I am curious as to what got you so upset. No one in this thread called you any names or flamed you at all. All they did was disagree with you and look what they got in return. Geez.

P.S. - I always find it HILARIOUS whenever I see people on the internet/members of the IWC making all the "loser" comments ("get a life", "get a woman", "go outside", etc) towards other people for being on the internet/being members of the IWC.

I have heard the statement "live in your parents basement, loser" arguement for years - but no one has properly explained how one's status as a member of the IWC is affected if they have parents that move into *their* basement...

kg2004: If I did argue with Scott Keith that the grass was green, most of you idiots would not be able to comment on the matter because you huddle around your computers all day. Some of you are probably as white as Carrotop; to which I say: Get some sun! Live a little bit! Put down the PS2 controller and the anime; it'll be there when you get back! Get jobs that don't involve retail or french fries!

Not that I'm not always amused by these things, but that paragraph is straight out of late 97-early 98. Using outdated "material" for ball-busting is no way to be taken seriously - these days it helps to have your own column. You mentioned Hi-8's story - that's taking the critique to a new level. A "get a job / get a life" message board post and then only allowing one post before you chime in again is amateur behavior. Just some FLEA ADVICE for you - you are, of course, free to do what you want.

And really, the only reason I'm offering this FLEA ADVICE is so that I can sneak in a quick plug for the IWC 100 NEW YEAR'S DAY 2K4 list! Available at 1ryderfakin.com 1.1.04! and while you are there, don't forget to play in the DEAD POOL!!

p.s. - and never do A, B, C, D. classifications. There is ALWAYS!!! an "E". this time it's as in chEEEEEEEEap post for a plug.

I do appreciate your constructive criticism, and I will do my best to be more productive in the future. I'm new to message boards, and I doubt I'll be here much longer, so I'll keep your thoughts in the back of my head. My own column would be lovely; however, columns about whether or not Chris Benoit would beat Rocky Johnson in a barbed-wire match take way too much time. Besides, it's fun to read some of the fools out there; most of those clowns couldn't write their way onto a high school newspaper.
Folks, check out Ryderfakin.com. This country is built on Fleadom.

Well, Scott blocked me on his blog o' life, so I'll respond to him through here.

A. I am not a jerk.
B. I did not snap and lose my mind - it's just another form of arguing (albeit it an unsuccessful one, but still another one).
C. I can make reasonable arguments, but sometimes it's more fun to be nasty.

Ironically, a few days before the beginning of 2004, my time as '2004' has come to an end.
Here's to a healthy and happy new year to all (including Scott). Hopefully, the world sorts itself out a little bit more in the coming year.

-2004

P.S. - Not that anybody cares, but here is my take on the wrestling 'net scene. 411mania is the best wrestling site on the Net. They've definitely have their shit (for lack of a better word, my apologies) together. The columnists, including Grutman (and I don't know the kid) are top-notch. Ryderfakin is a fun to bounce around at. Wrestlingobserver is very professional, and Meltzer knows his stuff. Pwtorch would be better without the pictures; sometimes, it's better not to see who you're reading. 1wrestling is improving (used to be my favorite), but Scherer would be alot better if he found a way to seperate the news and his views. Scott's rants are the best ones out there. I miss ScoopsCentral. Al Isaacs really had everything together.
Read Tim Keown and Bill Simmons on ESPN.com (page 2)...they are two of the funniest guys out there. Again, happy new year to all. It was fun to play in your world for a couple of days.

Since everybody wants my opinion, I'll give it. I think Scooter is one of the biggest losers on the planet. The guy thinks so highly of himself and thinks he's right about EVERYTHING when he has no reason to. He's one of those guys that has no friends in real life so he has to act all big and bad on the internet to try and be accepted. I would bet that Hyatte's story is a great representation of what Scooter is really like.

Also, the guy can't take an criticism at all. He bans anybody who says the smallest thing that he doesn't agree with. What a loser. I guarantee he gets off on banning people. It makes him feel that his pathetic life has some meaning to it. Fact is, Scooter is a loser and always will be. Bottom line...

BTW, Scooter would sure care about the US Army if Canada was ever invaded(but really, why would anybody attack that country)?

Though I don't particularly care for mr Keith's reviews, I guess I'm the kind of person who only remembers the parts of wrestling matches I liked, I agree with him on the troops thing. I stopped watching WWE for about six months, since the "USA good-everyone else bad" crap and the general glorification of the military annoyed the hell out of me as well.I hoped this USA-USA-shit had been buried with the Berlin Wall and Hacksaw Jim Duggan's career.

But then there's only so much CMLL and NOAH i can take so i put my principles aside and started watching again. Guess this makes me a bad person, or as you yanks like to put it, an european.

How could you call Scott Keith a loser for thinking highly of himself. He's one of the best known wrestling commentators on the internet, he's published books, and has tons of fans who read his tv show reports (and people to argue about him on message boards). The reason most of us go online after raw or smackdown is to read other opinions of the show because we don't have enough faith in our own. Keith's opinion is entertaining and centered on a large base of wrestling knowledge, so why shouldnt he think highly and promote himself. If you don't promote yourself, who else will? That is a key to being successful. A man can reply to criticism as he sees fit. It's hard to insult a man just because he is doing what he enjoys and what he thinks is best for himself. We're all entitled to our own opinions and we're entitled to read or write about wrestling on the internet without feeling like a loser. Sure, there are times when Im embarassed to be a wrestling fan, but wrestling is something I want to keep in my life because it makes me happy. I can even be entertained by the 12 year olds who post insulting messages on this site.

Actually I did like WWF in the 80s, first of all it was the middle of the cold war, 2nd of All the Sheik and Nikolai were funny as hell! And Sgt Slaughter, Hacksaw and cpl Kirchner were as well, although that was probably unintentional.

On the subject of the Blog: "So what?" His frickin' opinion, like I should give a crap.

But on the little subject of the 80s WWF: Kinda funny, but during my early days of watching wrestling, I actually liked the patriotic angles, even if I was from another country. Of course, I was younger and more mark-y then, but I found it fun whenever some wrestler would proclaim their love for the country they live in by waving the flag a lot. Hey, they had every right to be proud if need be.

It's only after something like the Sgt. Slaughter anti-US angle that threw me for a loop. Now I can't help but wince on this "US good-everyone else bad" stuff. I think it's more of the latter that's making me ill rather than the former. The former kinda pronounces it though. Ah well.
