Do you think The Rock will pose on the cover of Sports Illustrated before WM18?(you may not get this joke unless you are a SI subscriber.)
Will the Rock win at WM 18 or will he job to the old fart at WM setting up the rematch at RAW the next night? | Promote this thread! | | Texas Kelly

His only clean WM win was a IC title defense against Rikishi back when he was Rocky Maivia, and Rikish was the Sultan. The others:
1998 -- Submits to Shamrock in a IC title match but retains on the Dusty Finish (decision is reversed when Shamrock won't break anklelock) 1999 -- Pinned by Austin in WWF title match to close first chapter of Austin/McMahon view in Corporation era 2000 -- Pinned by Triple H in the McMahon In Every Corner four-way (which I admit, was kind of necessary) 2001 -- Pinned by Austin in WWF title match to setup Austin heel turn (which was NOT NECESSARY by any means)
The WWF owes him a WM win, and feeding Hogan to him would make up for the Austin jobs on a emotional level. | Tom Dean

I'm absolutely terrible at predictions -- as in, go opposite of me and you'll do great -- but let's try anyway. Let's say Austin beats Hall, because I think it'd be ludicrous if he doesn't. So then:
- If Rock beats Hulk, and Nash doesn't have a match, the nWo, having lost all its matches, can't be taken too seriously anymore. I think this would happen only if the nWo fucks up backstage, or if it's thought that they're not over enough to play out this angle any further. Which are certainly distinct possibilities. As of this very moment, I would say neither one applies.
(I suppose losses by both Hulk and Nash could also happen if, in some convoluted way, the "nWo loses after all" angle can be twisted into a promotional split... don't see how offhand.)
- If Nash has a match and wins, then Rock can win without it ending the nWo. Would that happen? Well, it depends on who they match up Nash with... and honestly, I can't imagine who the hell it might be. (Edge?? I dunno.)
In sum, I think who wins Rock/Hulk depends on how over the nWo are perceived as being a couple weeks from now, and on what they decide to do with Nash... so it's too early to say. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
