Well, I'm straight and the fag comment kind of offended me. But I'm the same way about racial stuff. It's all the same. HMD, I dig what you're saying, but I think historically, the marginalized group, be it women, minorities or gays, usually get cut a little more slack. Sort of a "we owe you one, sorry about the last 200 years" comp thing.

On King of the Ring '93, what was the main event like? I'm interested in that one too, because I heard that the announcers totally buried Hogan, and then there was that weird finish with the flaming camera. Always wanted to see it.

And about XI. I don't know why, but that fucked up powerbomb finish (as HMD alluded to) just spoiled the match for me. If Diesel had grabbed him and done it again, it would have been so much better.

I don't remember the announcers burying Hogan, but the match certainly did that. Hogan didn't look anything like himself and Yoko basically splattered him all over the place (Hogan comeback notwithstanding).

And as for WM11... it'd be nice if they really gave us all something big to cheer about. 'Sides, I was 13 and with the rest of my family, who didn't care about wrestling. I think they didn't want me to cheer. -_-

What about 'Mania 13? Eeveryone seems to say that this was the worse behind 9, but I rather liked it. The main-event was nothing special wrestling wise but I always mark for old-school Taker(and Bret getting in there to whine was hilarious).

As for 9, I enjoyed it as well but I think that might be because I didn't go into it with the anti-Hogan smark mentality. I've actually enjoyed every Wrestlemania I've watched, with maybe 8, 10, 12 and 17 rating high and 14 and 16 rating lower. I've yet to see 11, but since its got Diesel and HBK, there's no way I CAN'T enjoy that.

And I still have to see 2, 4, and 7.

I used to think WM 13 was worse, however, Bret/Austin automatically pulls it ahaead of XI, 2, and IX.

KOTR 93 was actually quite entertaining because of the Hogan/Yoko mach, and an amazing Bret/Perfect match...

Mania 11 rocked. Few things in this world are as cool as bob Backlunds crazy old man gimmick. Great I quit match, and as bad as he is now, NOBODY can deny that Nash and Michaels had a great match. 13 was good only for Bret vs Austin. 2000 was good because 1-the triple threat 2-the ladder match 3-Foleys retirment (good way to end a great career.) Mania 2 was....whats the word i looking for...uh...oh yeah, craptacular.

Boy, that really kind of sums up this board. It's okay to be a homophobe and a biggot here. And this is an intelligent board. Losers.

See, whereas you heard that, I heard "Point taken, but I didn't need to take the point repeatedly."

And BTW, I'd put WM9 in the bottom 3 along with WMs 4 and 11 at the very least. :)

The Best:17

great: 19, 14, 8

good: 16, 10, 4, 3

ok: 18, 15, 12, 7, 6,

bad: 13, 5, 2, 1

Horrible: 9

The worst: 11

WrestleMania 11 takes the cake, by a narrow margin, 9 was saved due to being outside, whic was cool...i guess.

WrestleMania 13 was pretty bad, but Austin/Hart was one of the greatest matches in 'Mania history, and that instantly bolts it above some of the other shitty shows.

And I think 2000 is vastly underrated. Sure, there was some crap in there, and, on paper, the card didn't really seem 'WrestleMania worthy'. However, everything on the card seemed to turn out alright, and I DEFINITLEY wouldn't categorize it as one of the bad shows.

IX wasn't one of my favourites. It started of well, but lost ground, thus interest. I didn't like the way they treat skinny Hogan the same way as beefed *cough roid cough* Hogan. Made the finish cheap!

I didn't mind 2000. I have it on DVD. I think it starts OK with Godfather DLo Ice T and Ho's getting some cheap crowd involvement early. Rare good line from King to JR "When you heard that Ice T was going to be at Wrestlemania you were thinking Liptons right?" or words to that effect. Val does his best to sell Kat vs Terri. can't bring myself to call this a match. Hardcore battle royal was OK despite Tim White missing the three count. E/C Hardyz Dudleyz typical for the era. I/C was a good match. I liked the main. Triple team Big Show to get him the hell out of the match early. Foley tried hard despite killing himself of the announcers table and kept the crowd in. At least JR didn't keep calling him Mankind like he did at the Rumble. Dusty finish worked in context.

3 and 17 have been my favourites, but I missed at lot in the early to late 90's.

I didn't mind 2. Good hype to the Bundy Hogan cage match but the match was never going to be more than Hogan vs fat guy for the title. The "too disoriented to find the door but co-ordinated enough to climb over the top" bit shits me. The boxing match was misguided. Only proved that as boxers, Piper makes a good wrestler and T makes an actor, and all his tough guy schtick is exactly that. I remember being pumped for the tag match with the bulldogs and class this match of the show. My whole year watched it in a hall when we were away at camp (100 odd boys) but I remember getting disinterested from the tag match to the main. Battle Royal was fun (It has been 17 years since I've seen it though)

I'm glad others here don't like IV. After the success of III, I was looking forward to this all year. The tourney idea was really different for the mainstream, but the actual execution was poor and left me with a cheated feeling. Too many DQs and count outs resulting "byes" None of the matches really impacted me, and once again its all about Hogan.

WM was boring, but it had something of importance (Title tourney). WM 2 had no major impact on the wrestling world, and WM XI, in my opinion, really hurt wrestling (still can't get over LT beating Bam Bam). WM IX might have been lacking in wrestling, but the weird history surrounding and atmosphere raise it for me.
